I would imagine, despite the obnoxious, idiot West Virginia fans, that it's a pretty place but I've never been.

Morgantown is not a pretty town. And it's nothing like Boone, NC
But when you go to games there as a WVU fan you'll be entertained! I had season tickets (my bride graduated from WVU) and enjoyed watching Pat White, Steve Slaton and many others... But opposing team guests are NOT welcome there. And when we lost to them in the Orange Bowl, let's just say that's part of why I do not go up there anymore!!

Building a federal prison in the mountains outside of Morgantown, snowed about 5 feet at the jobsite while I was there. Morgantown was reminiscent of Boone, NC as someone else suggested. I drove in from Pittsburgh, nice drive.

and stopped to see the stadium. It didn't make a big impression without a game, and the city was just okay. West Virginia, as a state, is really beautiful, though.

yes and it is a beautiful campus. All of WV and Virginia is beautiful.
Charlottesvile area is beautiful as well is the campus of VA.
My daughter lived there for many years.

I drove through there over the summer and decided to stop and see the campus and Milan Pusker stadium. The state of WV is beautiful, but I didn't think Morgantown was all that great.
