Anyone else watching the World Series tonight?

I'm not old enough to remember the Dodgers before they moved to LA, but I do like traditions and history. There's a LOT of history between these two teams. It's too bad that the ballpark where the Brooklyn Dodgers played no longer exists. If the Dodgers were to win the series this week in NY, wouldn't it be cool for the team to go celebrate where Ebbets Field once stood? Are there any surviving Dodgers who played for them when they were still in NYC? There must certainly be a few Dodgers fans left who remember seeing them play at Ebbets Field and in Yankee Stadium. What a historic rivalry.

I saw them play in Ebbetts and at Yankee stadium on TV. Back in the 50's. My fav.team was the dodgers. Hated the Yankees. Thought it was a sad sad day when they moved to California.
Of course when Milwaukee Braves moved to Atlanta, they became my fav. team. When Bobby Cox was mgr., and Braves were on TNT, I never missed a game as long as Bobby was mgr.
I lost interest after Bobby retired, so I don't watch the Braves now until playoffs. Miss all those great players that played for Cox. Esp. The trio of Maddux, Glaven and Smoltz. I don't think there has ever been a better starting trio on any team.

I saw the game when Dave Justice hit the home run to win the Series against the Indians in 1995. We played at G Tech earlier in the day and then on Sunday we went to the Falcons vs the Cowboys in Deions first game as a Cowboy after he left Atlanta. Best sports weekend ever.
We didn't have tickets to the World Series.... was there with about ten other guys from Clemson. We got there in the fourth inning, jumped a couple of curbs and parked next to the TV trailers. We thought we'd just walk around the stadium and tailgate.
We got to a gate that was about 15 yards wide and there was only one person standing there so we just rushed the gate and he didn't even care and got in and saw them win it all.
Then we went to Buckhead and partied into the night.
Best weekend ever. Clemson beat GT, Braves won the Series (and I am from Minnesota, so I remember how good the Braves were in the 1990s watching the 1991 series when the Twins beat the Braves). Bobby Cox was an awesome manager. hard to believe they don't have more world series wins than 1995 in the 1990s.

I have the poster with the front page of the Atl Journal Constitution with the Braves Win headlines, and there, too, on the front page in a small ‘preview pane’ is the Clemson Ga Tech score. It was a great weekend, indeed!

Same three games for me. Tailgated hard for Clemson/Ga Tech game and then onto the Braves game where we kept going to liquor store with bars on the windows for more cases of beer by the KFC Braves pregame. I got on the mic with the Native American's protesting the chop/mascot/etc. walking into the game and told everyone to quit doing the chop because it was disrespectable to my new friends. My seats were so bad in center field I couldn't even see the catch for the final out. Remember feeling like total crap at the Falcon's game next day.

I can. I was an LA Dodgers fan as a kid before the Braves moved to Atlanta.

Does it seem to anyone that this Series is just getting knocked out of the news? Just seems to be zero hype over it compared to past World Series. Not sure what it is but I've heard quite a few people say they don't even know who is playing. Maybe it's because we are one week from a Presidential election.

It was hyped as the biggest WS in around 40 years but yes besides Freddie Freeman......its going out with a whimper.........the big stars have not performed Ohtani and Judge just have a few hits between them.......and pitching doesnt make the highlights but it does win games.
It is partly to do with the elections and everything else to do in the world, but all in all unless the yankees somehow force a game 7, it will go down as a dud.

So far LA is killing NY in the rap battle too. I mean ICE Cube vs Fat Joe; that's not even a contest. Especially when NY could bring out Nas, PE, Wutang, Beastie Boys, LL, the list is endless.

The Dodgers have a bullpen game. This would be Clayton Kershaw's start, but he's out for the season with bone spurs in his foot.

Nice comeback. Would love a game 7, but Dodgers probably win game 5 or 6 and close it out.
