Well - in the B9 with a guy on 1st and nobody out, Jack would have bunted. I would have preferred that to the guy striking out. So instead of 1 out and guy in scoring position, we had 1 out with guy on 1st. We had to play a couple more innings, but THAT was the ONLY time.

Jacks players even lost the ability to bunt for the most part.

yall do realize jack no longer coaches at clemson. maybe not i guess. it was time for a change no doubt but seems to me we should hold a coach that took us to 6 trips to omaha in a little higher esteem. of course who could expect any more from the goobers that inhabit this board.

What kinda comment was that? Sure I know he doesn't coach at Clemson. He was my neighbor at Clemson before he moved. Just commenting that they couldn't but either towards the end of his great career at Clemson.

Although this team displays some characteristics of the Leggett coached teams, they win many of the games they would have lost under Leggett. I, too, am glad we have Monte.

The ghost of Legget still exists with the team, I. E. the inexplicable cold bats sometimes, striking out looking, terrible fielding, etc. the big difference is the will to win and not choking in the late innings.

They are Jacks recruits/Players, pretty sure that stuff will change as Monte gets his players in.

Who do you think recruited Seth Beer? He committed to play at Clemson because of Coach Leggett....think Montes guys will be better than Seth Beer? The problem with Leggetts teams in the past was our pitching coach. If Leggett would have had the current pitching coach the previous 4 years he would stil be the coach at Clemson. Monte is the best guy to replace Leggett for sure, and he will have a hall of fame career as well, but Leggett was a great coach and he did just fine recruiting players... Krieger, duggar, crownover, Erwin, all taken before 6th round last year. Okey will be first round pick this year. Younger players have a lot of talent just need opportunities...Reed Rohlman wasn't even on radar at start of last season and he ended up as Freshman all American. Recruiting talent was not the issue for Leggett. He had Lecroy as well and Lecroy is one of best recruiters in college baseball.

I'd give Monte a ton of credit for being able to hang on to him.

Sure he deserves credit but a lot of people don't seem to appreciate what Jack did for Clemson. They will probably feel the same way about Dabo when it doesn't go well.

It's not that we don't appreciate what Jack did, but it was time for him to step down and he didn't want to do that.
