IF they don't know, Sheepshead love sand fleas, so I would recommend using them. When we used to fish for them we would use female sand fleas and hook the flea so that the point of the hook was right at the females eggs. Even at that sometimes the fish would eat the eggs and still not get hooked.
Here is a pretty good video on how to catch sand fleas.

At the Parris Island sand fleas catch YOU! Plus they’re super hard to rig on a hook lol. Interesting video though. Remember catching them as a kid with hands but haven’t tried this. Thanks.

What I can tell you about Sheephead, is that it takes a plenty of those fiddler crabs to catch them

Good luck. Try around the clamagore too. They stack up near that thing.

Is she still on display or have they turned her into a reef already?

I don’t think she’s open to tour anymore because of disrepair but she’s still sitting there rotting at the marina.

Lots of Black Sea bass and other bait stealers around. Had some better luck with oysters than fiddlers

Lots of rain and freshwater flushing out of jettis. While I haven't been for 3wks, we did poorly that day, only 2 with several small sea bass and croaker. Used croaker and pin fish to hookup couple nice shark but sheeps were off that day. I know when water cools slightly and rain slows down, sheep usually bite better for me end of Sept thru first of Nov.
