Any word on impression Manning had at the game?

I believe it really doesn't matter at this point because he has probably made his mind up already but just curious if he (or his father) said anything about the trip to DV

It would be nice to see young Mr. Manning here ,but I think the SEC connections are too strong. Consider what he could do at LSU, his home state, or possibly breaking records of either Eli, or Peyton at Ole Miss or Tennessee .Of course there is always the allure of playing at Alabama and helping Saban break( if not already broken) Bear's record. Gut feeling, if any ,is that I think he would pick Clemson over Georgia.

Hello Leftie,
With respect to Arch Manning, the rumors of Clemson's demise (as a potential destination) have been greatly exaggerated.
The alleged Manning fascination with the SEC does not take into consideration the common factor between both Peyton and Eli choosing to play in the SEC ... for two different schools, no less.
That "factor" was David Cutcliffe.
Cutcliffe was Offensive Coordinator when Peyton was at Tennessee. Cutcliffe was HC at Mississippi when Eli came along.
Cutcliffe, highly regarded as a superior offensive mind, is now HC at Duke.
The Mannings are not stupid people. They want the combination of (1) good program (2) stability in the coaching staff (3) proof that well-regarded QBs can make it through college and be prepared for the NFL and (4) campus which is conducive with a top notch college experience for their boy.
What aspect of Clemson is lacking in the above 4 categories?

Where did those four points come from?

Was it something one of the Mannings said?
If they’re just made up for that post, then I’m guessing #2 was made up to eliminate Alabama, in particular.
But either way, those are pretty standard things that parents want for their kids, and highly regarded recruits choose different programs all over the country for various reasons. (There’s no checklist that universally eliminates Alabama, Ohio St, UGA, or anyone else for that matter, leaving Clemson as the only option.)
Probably no one outside the family knows what he’s going to do. Maybe no one inside the family does. Maybe even he doesn’t. It’s all just hoping at this point.

I'm hoping Arch will want to make a name for himself and not follow in the footsteps of his uncles and grandfather. at least we can hope and pray he does. It doesn't hurt that we've had some pretty dadgum good qbs in the past decade and beyond.

a couple of things I've not noticed as being in our favor. First. the program. Dabo has built is, to my knowledge. unlike anything available at any successful program. Manning can choose any school he wants, will be accepted. will play and will go pro. but there are few choices where he can be under coaches that are as interested in him as a person as they are as a player. Second, though it is of no great weight, the Manning have ties to SC.
No idea what the future holds, but if he has showed up 2x, or more, we definitely have had a chance. I wouldnt think the Manning are overly impressed with the SEC.

If DJ had come out this season and looked like the overall #1 pick many had projected him to be I think we would have had a chance. However, since we've proven to be either inept at developing 5 star QBs, inept at game planning around a QB that is struggling and have a bunch of WRs who can't catch a cold, would you send your 5* son here to be a QB when he could go anywhere he wanted? Didn't think so. There's a reason people are worried about CK decommitting.

I disagree. First, Dabo, TE, nor anyone other than DJ is responsible for his actual on field performance or execution.
I believe the kids these days are a lot more savvy on than some give them credit for. Second, I also believe a QB of Klubnik’s ability would see DJ’s struggles as an opportunity to come in and be the starter next year.

TL was better when he got here than when he left or pretty much the same . He learned through the competition but him and ETN got wasted last season.

We had the best passing offense in Clemson history in TL's

final season, 2020. Obviously not wasted.
Rushing yardage went from 13th in the country with 3,606 yards (240 yds/game) in 2019 to 75th and 1,846 yards (154 yds/game) in 2020. Our yards per carry went from 6.37 yds/carry to 4.49 yds/carry.
That's wasn't *wasting Travis*.. It was an oline dropoff.

Check where Will Randle is visiting may give a clue where Arch may end up.

Check the schools that Will Randle is interested in. He is interested and visited all the schools that Arch has visited except one. Will Randle is Arch's TE.

but I can tell you with 99.999% certainty that Arch isn't going to be a "package deal" recruit. If anything, his hanger-on buddy could walk on somewhere that Arch decides to go.

Randle is 6'4" 220 TE coming out of 10th grade. High school coach says he is probably their most valuable player has offers from LSU Texas Ga. Tech FSU SMU etc. He just visited UGA. Of course no pkg deal. But he is a sought after prospect in his own right. He has been to every school that Arch had in his five official visits except Clemson. I think that is worth noting.
