They were never an exact science. I never took them that seriously. They usually mean something, but I don't expect the "expert" to be clairvoyant.

to commit.
They aren't able to predict the school's recruiting board and what changes happen there.

Clemson can't take his commitment right now with those they think they have committing. He didn't want to wait. Will he DeCajun if a spot opens up ? Who knows ?

You are talking about a kid that never mentioned LSU in his top group and only visited LSU as a part of a bus tour with his team.
Those bus tours are basically 20 kids getting a facility tour. Not like a personal visit.
You expect people to predict the future for a kid that has no bases for making that decision that we know of

Agree!!!!!!
If they don't have enough info to give a credible guess, then don't!!! They had Sampah at 100%.

Sampah only had 2 CB’s. One from almost 6 months ago and one from a guy who has no clue about Clemson recruiting. The CB shows trends and the current momentum. Nobody had any clue where Sampah was going.

A few pointers here for interpreting the crystal balls
Apr 30, 2019, 1:49 PM
|
|
1) Don't put much stock into the percentage. 100% absolutely does not mean anyone is 100% certain where the recruit is going. The percentage is just based on how many educated guesses (that's all these really are) there are for each school.
2) As with pretty much anything, a larger sample size is better. 10/10 CBs to Clemson is much more relevant than 1/1. If there are only 1 or 2 CBs for a big time recruit that means most of the "experts" don't have a good feel for where the kid is going.
3) Newer predictions mean much more than older predictions. Look at the date the predictions were made. Crystal balls from a year ago are often worthless.
4) Look for trends. A guy could be 75% Ohio State, but if there are 20 CBs and the last 5 are all to Clemson, you should feel pretty good about our current position with that recruit.
Hope that helps.

That explains it perfectly. To add a bit, you could in theory have only 1 expert make a prediction for where they think a recruit is going, and that will make it 100% for whichever school the pick is for. Then a week later another expert makes a prediction for the same recruit, but picks a different school then each school will have 50%.
