Yes, three people I knew died.
If u only know four people that had it you’re very lucky and I could see how you might think it’s a bunch of nonsense. But it’s not.
When I think of others, I hope they don’t bump into death or hospitalization.
When I think of me (vaccinated) I hope I don’t bump into one of the long term conditions such as eternally tired, constant coughing, etc.

Probably have had 40+ deaths cross my desk since this started.
As for people who've had it? My entire family and wife's entire family have had it. Like nearly every single one of them I can name. My mother's whole family has had it. We are certainly odd but I'd wager we've had it in our house. All of sons friends and their parents have had it. Know 5 people who were hospitalized with it. One in ICU almost went on a vent. Broinlaw brought it back from a trip. His family got it. Father-in-law got it when he went back working in the office. His friend who worked one cubicle over gave it to many of his immediate coworkers. Had to close the office.
It's odd though because I know people who got it who didn't spread it to their spouse or household. Then I know one person who infected every single person in the home who celebrated Christmas. A dozen people got it from one cousin. Only two in the home didn't get it only because they already had it.

I know of 5 COVID-19 deaths. I did not have close relationships with any of those who passed. The 5 deaths were two of wife’s distant cousins (big family), two work associates and mother of a close friend.
I know of about 12-15 confirmed cases in the same circle. This week my seven year old grandson had a positive test and mild symptoms for about 3-4 days. He seems to be doing better but still a little sluggish.
You’re fortunate that your experiences have been minimal. Hopefully they will stay that way and in the meantime count your blessings.

Bro, it is definitely real and it’s a roll of the dice as to how sick you get. I’ve seen old people with comorbidities come out unscathed and I’ve seen perfectly healthy people end up in the hospital. I watched my neighbor down the street ride off in an ambulance one night back in December not knowing if he was coming back. He made it, but he could barely do anything for the next few months.
The three that I know that died were older and all had some other things either going on or had gone on.
I personally saw last week that the vaccines work and work well. My wife’s family had a reunion/vacation. All except maybe one or two of the younger ones were vaccinated. One of them ended up at the ER for an unrelated issue and tested positive. From that, two more tested positive. All three were over 75. Three people out of 16 that lived in the same house and ate group meals together. None of the younger people even tested positive. So far the worst symptoms are colds and two are already better. The third seems to be improving too. All three would likely be hospitalized or dead before the vaccines.
So I get waiting and being wary of the side effects because I’ve been on that same page. But they do work and I’m getting vaccinated.
You're right T3, that's really one of the scariest things about it. Some people get it and it's no big deal, sick for a week and good to go. Others, not so lucky. My wife got it and it #### near killed her. She's fine now but it was really bad. We thought we were going to lose her there for a while. Strangely, her sister got it from a coworker and was only sick for a couple of days. I've had both my shots, I'm too big of a puussy to get Covid.

too willing to put their faith in media talking heads and politicians than in science. Each of them, if they ever went to public school in this country, enjoy the benefits of having been vaccinated against Polio, Smallpox, Hep B, Rotavirus, Rubella, and Diphtheria.
Yet, have allowed themselves to be convinced that the Covid vaccine is poison, mind control, big govt., Bill Gates tracking bot, violation of civil rights, and any number of ideas floated out there by politicians and media figures.
In other words, it's ok for the govt. to mandate immunization for children to attend school, but since Trump and the GOP have politicized the vaccine, there is a problem for this one. My question to the anti-vaxxers is which one of the diseases, Smallpox or Diphtheria are you willing to expose your kids to?
