Another guy to consider if Brad and Clemson ever part ways...

Is Steve Phrom former Iowa State/Murray State Coach Steve Phrom. Had a lot of bad injuries with team and other factors at Iowa State his last three of four years, but before that they were very good. He also did a great job at Murray State. He has a lot of success in the NCAAT. A lot of basketball insiders think he could get a big job at a big school again soon.
That was a bad fit anyway -- he was a Southern guy whose ties were in the southeast. He played at Alabama.. He had no ties with the Midwest. He might be a good alternative if some of the top candidates decline because he is already available now:

I know he had bad luck with injuries and covid his last couple seasons, but he also went 14-42 combined. He would be on an instant hit seat coming in.

Yeah, but still think better than Brad. When good his teams were very exciting to watch when they were good. I remember Michael Tabb transfered to Murray State and did great while he was there.. Again, he would be a back up candidate.
My top candidate is Matt McMahon and the other guys that have been mentioned like Niko Medved. I think that McMahon has developed a better program than Phrom now after being there for 6 years

You can keep throwing names out there but we don't have an opening in basketball. Besides, when has the athletic dept. ever listened to anyone on tigernet.

preach, brother, preach. the AD not listening to "fans" on any internet site is a good thing. can we not call for a guy's job and/or discuss his possible replacements while he is still our coach? You're not just firing a HC, you're firing 3 assts, a recruiting coord, a Director of ops, a video guy, a weight guy, a player development guy, a special asst to the HC, a trainer, a couple of admn assts and a couple GAs. You're talking 12-15 positions that would be affected. those folks have families. Yes, it happens every time a coach is fired, but can't we as a fan base let if play out, let our AD do his work? If you've got opinions, by all means express them.. but doesn't it make more sense to express them to folks who can make/influence the change?

You are like coot football fans who think their program will have its pick of coaches. Then they figure the top guys don’t want to coach their program or they can’t afford the preferred candidate. After a lot of hand wringing the 14th guy on the original list is hired. Wash rinse repeat

He has deep ties to the state and region. His baggage wasn’t enough for Wichita State to be able to fire him with cause. And he is particularly known for finding no star players and putting them in the NBA. Frankly, it’s a no brainer that he should be the first phone call.

You know Clemson is goody two shoes. Nobody but Franklin Graham will do. Gregg Marshall has matured and learned a lot . Why not give a man a second chance. Seems I remember a man that gave something a second chance- His name was Jesus

Again Matt McMahon is my top candidate would like to see. Sent two NBA players from Murray State in Ja Morant & Cameron Payne. So he knows how to find talent.
Ja Morant is a huge NBA star, and remember from SC is a huge Clemson football fan so he would help his former coach get players here. He has a guard now in Brown that will probably play in the NBA as well.

Normally, coaches that went 2-22 their last year don't get another chance.
