Researched some mail in ballot stuff. Found out a few things

1. Colorado does state wide mail in balloting, and they have what is considered the most secure voting in the US.
2. Mail in ballots have bar codes. This allows auditing and full tracking so it can be seen exactly where somebody ###### up.
3. We have had mail in ballots since the Civil War
4. Trump has voted by mail many many times.
5. Usually 25% of normal elections are mail in votes. This year they are expecting 70%
6. There is NO difference between mail voting and absentee ballots except in states that have decided to send out all mail ins like Colorado has been doing for years.
So ask yourself if you are ok with Trump purposely slowing down the US Post Office to stop mail in voting to help him get re-elected WHICH HE ADMITTED TO DOING.
Mail in voting or no mail in voting, the USPS is vital to our country.

been doing mail in ballots since the Civil War. The only difference this year would be having to ramp up from 25% of overall ballots to an estimated 70%.
Which would be doable if Trump wasn't purposely dismantling the USPS so nobody can vote by mail.

How does...

'Colorado has been doing this for years,' make you change the subject to the post office? Also, how can you say the post office is doing fine in Colorado delivering mailin ballots and returning them to the polls with a straight face?
You do understand, of course, that you are contradicting yourself with every point you make.
What has Trump done to dismantle the postal service?

finger in ears la-la-la part? If so, you've reached that point faster than normal.
Colorado is an example that rampant voter fraud in mail in ballots is a myth.
The Postmaster General has banned overtime, removed mail sorting machines among many other steps this close to the election. Which could be considered "streamlining" in some way or another
Except for your boy specifically saying he ordered the Postmaster General to do this to keep people from voting by mail.

That no one had a problem with mail-in voting until now?
Suddenly y'all do. And you didn't have a single problem with it until Trump said he did, and then even came out and said he would lose if we did mail-in voting.
You can't be worried about fraud because you weren't before. So it seems y'all are just scared it will increase voter turnout, thus hurting Trump's reelection chances. Can't y'all just admit it?

Gerrymandering and poll closings don't work if people vote from home.

IF the post office had to charge what it costs to deliver a package, breakeven (including cost of employees benefits/pension) that would invite the private sector to get in the business
we could have a better mail system, faster, efficient , better customer service
for the people

which allows below market costs in mailing.
by going private, the overhead for many businesses will go up significantly. On the other hand we will probably get less junk mail.
But as a federal service, it doesn't have to make a profit.
Nobody says the US military loses trillons a year.

One of the other problems...
Aug 17, 2020, 10:25 AM
|
|
As is with most Trump decisions: It's ham-handed. Rather than focus on just mail-in voting, his response is to remove mailboxes, cut postal funding, and attack the integrity of the Post Office, which provides a whole ### load of other services to people in the U.S.
It shows what an idiot child he is when he wants his way. Don't like something? Make a ham-handed decision that hurts other people that have no connection to what you don't like.
And yes, as you admitted, he thinks mail-in voting will make him lose, thus anyone defending his decision is admitting the same thing. They want our USPS hampered because they want their favorite candidate to win since they know his situation is desperate.
Partisan hackery. No more, no less.

I'm glad everything he tries to do is a big dumb clumsy disaster. What would be scary is if there were someone capable in charge who had Trump's instincts.

Agreed; that's one of the good things about this horrible presidency. His ham-handed decisions wind up hurting people who might have supported him. If he were actually clever with it, I'd be more worried. But I do worry about the immediate effects for some people.

Even your own article states that it was due to underuse, not out of some election suppression scheme.

You mean like the moving of sorting machines to higher volume locations? It’s only a “scheme“ when Trump does something.

Of course not. Provide evidence. Trump's just blatantly doing it right now. Show me what Obama did to try to sway an election.
