An ugly season got uglier ... and there is more to come!

Oct 24, 2021, 8:32 AM

Just a follow-up to my post of this past week about how "right-thinking" people would view the (then) upcoming Pitt game ... especially to ClemTigs, Moontiger, unfinishedsentenc. ClemsonTigers44, viztiz, 76er, Chucktowntiger1992 and Bloodbeorange: When you have a QB that can't throw (except to the opponent) or run, Receivers that can't catch, an OLine that can't block, RB's that can't run and an injury-laden D that just gets tired from being on the field so much, you're gonna lose when you play a decent team. Clemson was fortunate that Pitt made some errors, otherwise the outcome Saturday could have been even more embarrassing. With the FSU game being a toss-up, Louisville probably being a W, UConn a W, Wake surely being the embarrassment that almost was this past Saturday (and at home, no less), and USuck being a toss-up, an 8-4 season would be optimistic ... however, both FSU and USuck will be smelling blood, so one of these will likely be an L, resulting in a 7-5 season and a crummy pre-Christmas bowl game. Several members of the D will pass on the bowl for obvious reasons, Clemson will lose and wrap up a possible a** ugly 7-6 season ... with the losses equaling the total losses from the past five years. Perhaps the "best is yet to come!?" ... but Swinney may want to introduce Cade Klubnik to Dr. Pepper ASAP!

Your realistic opinions are refreshing but we are only one good quarterback away and a couple of unfortunate injuries away from being undefeated. I am obviously still lost in my Braves going to the World Series euphoria and have already moved on from this football season.

Funny how when you're losing injuries stack up

Remember boulware playing with half an arm? When you're winning the injuries are workable. The team has given up on Dabo. Honestly I hope we have a losing season. I think Dabo needs a humbling and a reset to get back to where he was 7 years ago. This new Dabo isn't what we signed up for.

Coot. Why else would you hope your team loses

Now that’s comical

We have a roster full of 4 & 5 stars and the coaches forgot how to coach! We've all seen lapses in offensive production for several years and wondered why? Maybe the coaches got too worried about the stars and not paying attention to what the stars had...recruiting services are a bunch of self absorbed turds and have always played for the limelight and Clemson did quite well before we had 5 stars! Our present QB situation I think is one of those...DJ might have a cannon but sometimes you just need a mortar or a rifle or a pistol and he has no clue! Clemson was renowned for coaching kids up and we will not have that award this year! Dabo is the CEO, Venables and Elliott are his VP's and someone has failed at the job with the tools provided! Where were the tight ends yesterday, our RB's are looking kinda good but are used a little too late! Maybe pay cuts are in order if pay for performance is part of the business structure!

I just hope he still comes. Our offense, coaching and lack of player development would be a major concern for any top tier QB. Dabo needs to make major changes to our offensive staff after the season.
