Tuesday afternoon update on 5-star Justyn Ross
The decision between Clemson and Alabama is down to the wire for 5-star Phenix City (AL) Central 5-star wide receiver Justyn Ross. The general consensus is that the battle for Ross’ services – who has a top three of Bama, Clemson, and Auburn – is down to the Crimson Tide and the ACC Tigers. Has his mom been to Clemson? Like most moms, she wants him close to home and that’s not good when you have the two instate schools near by. I hope she has had the opportunity to see Tigertown first hand.

From all accounts that I have read or remember its Mom that favors Clemson and Grandma/Aunt favors Alabama...Why an Aunt has so much pull in his decision is beyond me...

I'd guess maybe the Aunt and Grandma helped take care of him a lot when his mother was deployed.

Mom is active duty , so his extended family has been in the rearing department probably since early childhood .
Hope we get this kid , he looks like a really great person as well as player .

There is always a chance one of these recruits could do something unorthodox, but a very reliable source who is an Alabama alum and booster tells me it will be Alabama tomorrow, and over the years of working with him he is rarely wrong. I'm not going to compromise what details he told me, but it sure seems to me his info comes from deep within.
Yet Clemson will be fine at WR. I just hope they do not go to any fallback recruits, and save the scholarship for next year that is a recruit that they can indeed get in the end. Hopefully one that neither Alabama or Georgia is recruiting.

We will be recruiting against UGA & Alabama for the foreseeable future. Throw in Ohio State & LSU for that matter.
This staff has proven they can go places we never dreamed possible 8 years ago. The only thing that keeps us from ranking higher is class size.
The biggest key is the "Honesty" culture Dabo has created. He's walked the talk.
The boys that have walked out as men has proven what he's teaching is working.
No matter what happens tomorrow, this is a great time to be a Tiger.

Whatever the young man's decision is I wish him luck...if he chooses Bama

Even though he says he has had no input, I would guess his attitude about Clemson has shown through in some way. We made a huge impression on him, and I imagine his impression has shown to this young man.

Ross is an elite WR. Obviously, he has options. But Clemson just brought in the #1 slinging-it-like-there-is-no-tomorrow QB. That guy needs pass catchers. Ross is a pass catcher.

Not saying we lost him because it sounds like he’s really torn. However, imo he was All In until this years NC game when satan brought in tua. I sincerely believed that changed the equation.
I’m sure my opinion is unpopular but he knows who we have recruited but he doesn’t know who’s going to be chunking him the ball. If I was satan or muzzle Gus I’d be hammering on that. Otherwise they have nothing else to offer except staying in state.

Look no further than our two Championship games.
Of course, when each team won, everyone was happy to cheer the teams when the returned.
However, the true character is usually MORE on display when things DON’T go your way.
When Clemson lost the first Championsip game, THOUSANDS of Clemson fans welcomed the team back home. We stand by our team ... laugh and cry with them, and support ALL of OUR TIGERS through thick and thin.
When Alabama returned home after they lost to us in the Championship game ... TWENTY-ONE (21) fans welcomed them back in campus. You can check out the video on YouTube.
Now which “Family” would you want to be a part of? There’s only one answer for me... Mr. Ross, come and join the Clemson Tiger Family!!!

Totally agree with that and sounds like mama gets that but I’m sure he’s been getting some kind of pressure to stay at home. Sounds like that’s what grandma wants.
Who knows what goes on with recruiting. No telling what lies he’s been promised.

Yeah, because I'm sure us "not throwing the ball" one year made his mind up. If only the coaches mentioned something to him about us throwing the ball more, whether it be from an improved KB, HJ, or TL, we may have had a chance. Smh.
