Wow! He looked great at RB. Would have never thought. He looked solid in the backfield.
Wonder if we will use him more back there. He is a powerful runner and has good vision.
Anybody else agree?

Finally healthy and looked solid.
Very much a team player. He almost looked like Derrick Henry running.

I thought that same thing seeing him back there. He obviously said he would do whatever needed to help the team win.

I think he missed his calling. And would be great receiving out the backfield. He can truck.

Lets set up Adam Randall for H-back position next year
Dec 21, 2024, 9:15 PM
|
|
I think that our coaches missed A.Randall’s calling. He’ll be a true weapon and a unique player (at least as far as our roster is concerned) to play a powerful offensive role as H-back.
Although, to excuse our coaches inflexibility as far as recognizing that a change in position might be best for both the player and our team, at the start of the season we didn’t know that Wesco and TJ Moore would live up to their HS hype (remember how neither J.Ngata nor B.Collins came close to living up to their 5* HS billing). Stellato was still largely unknown as a viable weapon. And in both of his first two years, Adam Randall was a few notches below being at full strength / health.
So here in 2024 A.Randall was reasonably healthy, yet at WR he as eclipsed by Moore and Wesco (and for that matter also by Stellato). The SMU KO return + Mafah’s injury created a desperate enough situation to justify setting up one or two plays for A.Randall to do from the RB position.
Necessity is the mother of innovation. A.Randall looks like one heck of a H-back weapon.
I hope he sticks around and we draw up some plays for A.Randall at H-back next year.
(I’ll start a new thread to start this discussion.)

If he sticks around, RB should be explored in the spring

It’s been stated that Henderson will start off in the slot as a receiver not at running back. Think Ray-ray McCloud.

Said this stuff WEEKS ago!
Coaches should have switched his position as soon as he fell down the depth chart at WR.

How many snaps did he play at RB?
Dec 21, 2024, 8:32 PM

I did not watch the game. What concerns me is if AR took snaps at RB, where he has not played ever, what does that say about the state of that room? I am concerned we have nothing at RB for next year. Production came and went with Mafah, we started getting Haynes going, but then he gets injured. I am not sure what we have back there and I have a concern that it maybe Haynes, and nothing else. Putting us exactly where we were at the end of this season. I hope not.

Maybe my favorite player. He took a picture with my daughter after the Miami game his first year. Such a good young man and team first. Want only great things for him.
