ACC Jailbreak

Here's the plan:
1. B1G/SEC agree to take CU, FSU, UVA, UNC if we break the GOR.
2. In conjunction with B1G, Big 12 agrees to take Pitt, Miami, Louisville, NC State, and VT.
3. Since we all leave together, the GOR is broken.
Simple. What do you guys think?

Or vote to cancel gor contract. Of 15 teams that would mean more than 75%, so it would take 12 teams. Not sure where the over 50% of teams came from.

GOR would no longer be valid?
I don't think there is a number attached to the GOR, but I could be wrong. It's hard for me to see the ACC not existing in some form moving forward.

The most reasonable thing I have heard is majority vote can dissolve the conference. Majority vote without dissolution of conference would not break GOR. Lawyers can't even agree on that. So, what do I know?

Here's what we do... we get 7 other ACC schools to agree to leave and force the dissolution of the conference. They all sign on with another conference with rock solid agreements. But, at the last minute, Clemson backs out and forces all 7 of those schools to pay their $120M exit fee for breaking the GOR.
Then Clemson splits $840M with the remaining 6 football schools. With our cut, we pay the $120M exit fee and join the SEC from a position of strength, while at the same time punishing our former ACC foes.

think we have NO PROBLEM finding a new conference home. Saul must have written that particular document, as any other shyster lawyers around seem unable to break it thus far.

I envisioned something similar to this but I don’t see it happening. I was hoping that the Big 12’s new TV contract would be big enough to lure some of the ACC schools that won’t be able to land in the SEC or the Big Ten but the Big 12’s TV contract is smaller than the ACC contract. What would be the incentive for the “second tier” ACC schools to be willing to break up the ACC and move to the Big 12 for less money?

I think Pitt, Miami, Louisville NCState and VT are getting a bad deal. They will be making 31.7 mil and no network in the Big 12 compared to 40 or more in the ACC and being part of a 24 hr network for all sports.

They would still have to pay the ACC exit fee on top of it. I think 8 teams need a landing spot in the SEC/Big 10.

Agree. This would not be a good deal for VT, NCSU, and others. Either they land in one of the big conferences or they are better off staying in the ACC. I think y'all and FSU peace out and the rest of us take your payments as a consolation prize for a few years until college football breaks away. Then we will still be in a regional conference, but playing in a football only conference with someone.

I think if anything like this were to happen, FSU/Clemson would go to the SEC and UVA/UNC would wind up in the B1G.
