"Schools are officially prohibited from using endorsement deals as recruiting inducements and college athletes aren’t allowed to sign a contract before joining a team. The rules also ban teams from striking verbal or written deals with athletes before they enroll. In practice, however, most players being recruited are presented with a dollar amount they can reasonably expect to earn."

I worked with kids football way back in another life. We at stadium getting ready for a game one night and one of our kids comes up in street clothes. The other boys are asking him what's up? Is he sick? He says "My dad made me quit because I wasn't getting to play enough."

One of the other boys, an absolute great kid, looks him straight in the eye and says "How much you gettin' to play now?"


I think of that with this kid from UNLV. Now he sits a season. Will any other school take a chance on him after throwing UNLV under the bus. He may never have chance to play again.....
