Less than a month after I move into my new place, our Tigers will be taking the field against the new villains of college football. With Nick Saban playing golf, doing chores, and raking in retirement cash that most of us could only dream of, Kirby Smart and UGAly take the top spot.

Khaki pants is off to ruin the dreams of former college players and there are 12 spots for the playoff. So what has changed?

Tablets can be used on the sidelines and in the coaching booth. It may not be laptops, but Doren will still accuse people of cheating when he loses.

Teams can use in-helmet communications. Try that in Death Valley and see where it gets you. 100 decibels and visitors are going to switch nose touching and tummy rubbing.

Out of timeouts and in a clutch situation? Don't worry, college football has taken another step towards becoming the NFL and added a 2-minute warning timeout. Don't get me wrong, I can think of a few times where we may have needed one, but I still don't like it. The clock will still continue to run after a first down in the last 2-minutes of each half.

So what will the 2024 season look like for our Tigers? Call it orange-colored glasses or what have you, but there is momentum off of a 5-game win streak to finish the season.

The "big" 3

UGA still has Carson Beck. Congratulations. Edwards and Milton are gone, and they accounted for 62.4% of the bulldogs rushing yards. The top-2 returning rushers are Roderick Robinson II and Cash Jones, for 357 total yards. They return 3 of their top 6 receivers but only 43.9% of that production. Their front 7 will again be stout, but the backend is fairly inexperienced. This being the first game of the year, mistakes are going to be made. Will the Tigers who played against Duke show up, or will it be the team that beat Notre Dame and UNC? My guess is the latter. I won't go as far as calling it a win, but I will take the points (+13.5). UGA 17 - Clemson 13

NCST... There are tablets, electronics, wifi and oh by the way, Clemson comes off a bye week. Yes, the Pack have a defacto bye week in LT but an extra week to game prep and rest, you can't beat it. EA Sports doesn't like our home field advantage, but they have been out of the college football business for quite some time. NCST only put up 202 yards of offense in their win last year, and that isn't going to cut it. Take away the interception for a TD and the game is tied. Death Valley, revenge and Doren stinks. Clemson 27-10.

FU, I mean FSU. For all of those who give DJ a hard time, stop it. He can't help that he doesn't identify as a real college QB. 57.1% completion percentage against PAC-12/Pac-2, not really sure what to call them, denfenses won't cut it in the ACC. Wait... it already didn't. FSU bought some players in the transfer, but none of them are Coleman-esque. For me, the hype surrounding the seminoles is unwarranted. A missed 29 yard field goal, TWENTY NINE YARDS, and their season looks a lot different. 9-3 would have felt a heck of a lot better. I would say never again, but that phrase in our state means very little. It's a Doak, and we haven't lost their since 2014. 2014 was also the last time we lost back-to-back games against FSU. It won't happen this year. 24-20 Clemson

I expect this team to look a lot different, both offensively and defensively. Hedging my bets on an 11-1 regular season, ACC Champions and in the Final 4 of the playoffs. Go Tigers. Now let's get to kickoff.

Great insight.

Not to mention UGA lost their all world TE. We recruited him hard, would’ve made a real impact the last few years had he been a Tiger.

I don’t like Cade as much on the road but UGA won’t be a true road environment(they’ll likely still outnumber us). The pups think they did something by drubbing FSU’s b team. Our defense is going to surprise them as maybe the best they’ve seen in a couple seasons.

Opening with UGA and last seasons mishaps will make this a huge barometer game right out the gate. I see it closer than the spread too, but too close to call. Mafah and our slot WR plus TE‘s will allow us to move the ball. We need Riley to put Cade in a position to score TD’s. Field goals in the red zone will mean we likely lose, but if we win turnover margin I like our chances.

I honestly think we win out from there, and if anything happens to Cade can we please go to Pearman as first option??

Last year’s record was 9-2-2 … then the OT rule made it 9-4.

Last year was a disappointment … yet the team was Clemsonesque at the end.

I see a 17-7 win over Georgia. I see a solid win over NCState. To me the Florida State game is a toss-up.

Of course the other nine games are winnable … May it happen!

In Clemson's last game they gave up 28 offensive points to Devin Leary and Kentucky. Tigers may beat Georgia but there is little reason to think they're holding Carson Beck and the Dawgs to 7.

Honestly people better pay a little more attention to our defensive shortcomings. We gave up 400 yards and 35 points to Kentucky! Had they not turned it over 4 times they would’ve won easily.

NC State had one guy. One guy! And we couldn’t stop him from beating us.

Notre Dame was our best effort on D but we had to hang on.

So I think we need to be better on defense - I feel like we actually can be if the CBs are good. I don’t think there is a question we will be better on offense. How much better? Turnovers will decide and for everybody who’s been around since the late 70’s, you know the UGA game being early in the season is always decided by turnovers.

Agree, and I doubt we best UGA

I hope we do but they have out recruited us by a mile including the portal kids they have gotten the last 3 years. If I had to guess I would bet they are a team that is 2 years old than we are by average too. (It matters)

correction.... out purchased all the schools. Oh, and free rides to and from the strip club by the uga staff. It sure isn't the stellar grad rates. LMAO

Yours is the only analysis I've seen that includes Cash Jones. Most people, when they speak of UGA'S backfield, include Florida transfer Trevor Etienne.
