If my memory serves me correctly!!! Neither Herschel nor George Rogers ever graced the end zone vs the TIGERS!!! Now that is special!!!
I was in attendance at 13 years of age and remember it as if it were yesterday!

Punishing Tackles!!!
Hershel was hitting the line backwards in the second half to avoid the head on tackles, and stop fumbling! A glorious day, with the most Georgia fans I ever remember in Death Valley, coming off their National Championship.
They left stunned, quiet and quickly……

I would like to thank Bill Mathis(Later with the Jets)for getting me in the game. I was 11 years old and got caught sneaking into the game😂! My dad always said that if something bad happens find Bill Mathis. My brother had the b_alls to have them contact him over the loud speaker. He came to the south stands out of his box. I will never forget it! Had us seats front row in the upper deck for the 2nd half. It is still one of the greatest memory (especially growing up in Atlanta)! And you know the rest of 1981!!!!
