45% of all points allowed by the Clemson defense in 2024 occurred in the fourth quarter.

versus ranked opponents the average 4th qrt points allowed has been 14 points.
versus unranked opponents the average 4th qrt points allowed has been 9 points.

That also falls on GR and CDS for possibly being too conservative in the 3rd quarter when we have had leads. We have to get yards and run clock and get points in 2nd half to retain any leads from here on out.

Yep. Not surprising. As has been said, conservative offensive play calling leads to three and outs, which forces the Tiger D to play more than it should. Also, especially in the early season games, Dabo was substituting a lot of younger players all at once and they were getting smoaked in the fourth quarter.

Two fold problem:

1. Defense is getting tired
2. Offense isn’t sustaining drives

Solution:

1. Recruit more depth
2. Be able to get 4+ yards per carry

Against SMU we pretty quickly (3rd qtr and beyond) just went for passes - too many attempts down field vs short slants / outs.
