Curious what everyone has to say.
My first concert was the "Love at first sting tour" Bon Jovi opened for the Scorpions when Bon Jovi had one hit "Runaway"
Both bands where great. It was 8th grade and we drove down to Charleston WV with my buddies mom!

Good evening, The 1st concert I attended was The Rossington Collins Band in Myrtle Beach. That’s when I realized that their lead singer had pipes on her like I had never heard before! I believe her name was Krantz but ended up marrying Rossington. They were what was left of the LS band after the plane crash. Put out a couple of albums before they split up. My date wasn’t too bad either.

I saw them at the Torch club in Tryon NC in the 80’s. Only the singer was the only original member left. Great show. I went with a future mtv star Luke from animal bag. Good times.

That's a hilarious combo but I guess both were hugely popular. The Beastie Boys never toured that much. I got really lucky to see them when they did one of the big festivals like Lollapalooza at The Charlotte Amphitheatre. Can't remember which festival but was an awesome show. I was like 10th row back.

I was at that show too, 94 Lollapalooza at Blockbuster Pavilion. Incredible show, I remember they had this giant curtain with a huge Asian styled tiger or dragon on it that looked like it was moving when the wind was blowing. George Clinton and his crew were walking around checking everything out and came right by us and we told him how awesome his set was, he was a cool dude. Cool dude but that guy smelled like he hadn't showered in months. I guess even his music isn't the only thing funky lol

Concert - what size?
As a teen often went to see the SOUL groups (Drifters, 4 Tops) - TAMS remain my favorite artists.
Later on worked security at most Charlotte concerts -- have may tales as to celebrities off stage.

The Tams are apparently still touring in some form. I saw a really nice high roofed passenger van with a matching pull behind trailer at the Pilot in Piedmont last night. Immaculate paint on both with logos identifying the band. I was about to exit when one of them came in singing perfectly the song playing over Pilot's PA system at the time. I didn't put it together until I saw their rig at a fuel island.

There are 2 Tams groups touring currently. The Original Tams with R. L. Smith, the last surviving original member and The Tams featuring Little Red, the son of Charles Pope, who began touring with the Tams as a kid. Charles' brother Joe Pope was the lead singer of the Tams. I just happened to run into them and have the opportunity to buy Joe and Charles a beer or two before their performance at the Beaufort Water Festival in the early 80's! That was a real treat!

Saw them in 1964 in Greenville. They were great! Most have no idea how important they were as to music in the day. The fun tale there is I went as the escort of my room mate's (ole lady) 14 year old sister as that was OK with my home town honey back in Chester.
Do Clemson folks still refer as to a room mate as "old lady"?

I think it was the Eagles 1977ish in Columbia. A whole slew of concerts followed over the next 10 years. It helped that great seats were only $7.00-$8.00 back then.

First concert was Travis Tritt at Carowinds with Little Texas and Trisha Yearwood in ~1992.
First major concert was AC/DC at the old Charlotte Coliseum. Taking my 11 year to see AC/DC in April. One one assume this has to be their last tour.

Technically, first one was the Beach Boys after a Braves game around 1990.
First 'real' concert were free tix given to me for a Rush concert at the Omni in Atlanta in 1992. At the time, I didn't really know much about Rush but it was a really good show.

First concert I went to was train I really don't remember much I just knew my mom dragged me to it (Showing my age lol). I can tell you about one of my least enjoyable ones. I went to a house show and the whole place stunk. Didn't help the music wasn't good and you couldn't go outside because it was like 40 degrees and raining.

Technically, Hank Williams Jr at the Carolina Coliseum when I was like 7. My parents were pretty straight and narrow and very naive to the fact that it was basically a Grateful Dead show for rednecks. We left after a few songs as the group behind us was smoking weed and spilling beers on us.
My real first concert was Steve Miller Band in Charlotte early high school. Was awesome!

Dixie Dregs Mother's Finest Atlanta Rythm Section
I snuck a pint of whiskey into Bell Auditorium and threw up on the lady in front of me. Spent half of the concert outside sobering up.

My first concert was Arthur Smith and the Crackerjacks with Snuffy Jenkins and Grandpa Jones at the local Grammer school auditorium in the early 60's. My first rock concert was The Association at Littlejohn in August 1969. And after hundreds of concerts, this is still in my top 2 for sound excellence.

My Dad took me to see that same Arthur Smith concert lineup! It was '65, and the stage was a flat bed truck. Somewhere around Dillon. I would have been 7.

The Atlanta Rhythm Section with Wet Willie played at the American Legion Field in Anderson. I don't remember too much about that one. Mid 70's (?)
The Doobie Brothers with Pablo Cruise in Littlejohn I do remember.

My memory is a little fuzzy...either Kiss Dynasty Tour at Greenville Memorial Auditorium or Mother's Finest at the Gaffney Peach Festival.
I was a pre-teenager, but my best friend's mom traveled a lot. The girl that house sat (I guess baby sat is the wrong term) was WILD. She and her boyfriend took us to concerts, bars, and a lot of other places a couple of 11 and 12 year olds shouldn't go.

First concert was Roger Miller in Clemson at Fike Field House 1965. I went with my parents, I was 8. My dad loved Roger Miller and so did I. My first concert with friends was Alice Cooper in Greenville May 14, 1972. I thought my mother was going to have a stroke because I was going to see AC on Mother's Day! That show was the beginning of my obsession with music. 20,000+ lps later, I still am!

1992 Lollapalooza at Blockbuster Pavilion in Charlotte. I camped out for the tickets outside a record store to get front row. Either Chris Cornell or Eddie Vedder crowd surfed right over my head, RHCP were incredible that show playing really the only album of theirs I like, BSSM. Ministry was good too and I hadn't really listened to them much prior to that.

I am a diehard Bon Jovi fan and he was big when I was a kid. (Born in 81). I remember my mom driving in the snow to see Bon Jovi on the New Jersey tour. I wanted to go so bad but I was too little. Cried myself to sleep. She did bring me back a wall sized poster so that made me happy. I am a huge hair band fan and would give anything to be a teen back in the 80’s and see all those shows

1979 I saw Peter Frampton. One of the opening acts was a band called Blackjack. They had a guitar player named Bruce Kulick, who played for years with Kiss. Their lead singer was Michael Bolton - the Michael Bolton of "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You" fame.
