10% Tennessee "Talent Fee" to Tickets

Tennessee set to add 10% 'talent fee' to tickets to fund plan for revenue sharing with players.

As part of the plan, Tennessee will add a 10% premium charge to tickets that will go directly to athletes starting with 2025 season tickets. After the Volunteers reached 20 wins over the last two years for the first time in decades, Tennessee football season tickets are projected to increase an additional 4.5%.

I'm not shocked that the schools are going to place the costs of revenue sharing on the backs of the fans and alumni. They continue to make more and more money, but continue to ask for more and more money. If you ever thought the schools were going to share their piece of the pie with the athletes, you are sadly mistaken.

For all we know Clemson has already been doing that too...

Ticket prices increase every year and, at the end of the day, we have no idea how the University and/or the Athletic Department utilizes that money. Perhaps Tennessee is just being more transparent.

Their fans are happy. So happy that they routinely sell out a 101,000+ seat stadium.

BTW, I'm a Clemson alum, Skippy.

You and Clemson80Tiger need to get your 🐂💩 stories straight. He claims that I'm a court and two other people that I'm not. You claim that I'm a Vol.

$600 X 100,000 X .1 = $6,000,000.

Minimum, based on selling every ticket in the stadium at the lowest price- but some seats are more expensive. They will probably get significantly more than $6 Million from this for "talent".

For Clemson to get 10 Million, figuring 7 home games with 80,000 in attendance, figure $18 "talent fee" per ticket.

Ohio State spent $20 Million this year for "talent".

a separate and distinct line item on the tickets…that's the only explanation I can think of, other than just saying ticket prices are rising 15% this year or whatever it is in total. Maybe it keeps that 10% from also having a tax on it?

Is this the same price as the cover charge at a strip club, or is it the money for the lap dance? It’s confusing.

That likely pulls in close to a million per home game, generating 5-7 million a year to buy players.
