D.Collins (like Sergio Allen) saw the writing on the wall ... D.Collins also saw the Adam Randall on the field.
Good luck to D.Collins in his next stop.

If they can’t enter the transfer portal until after the season in December, why leave now? At the very least they get some playing time and use of the training facilities, et al.

Reason to leave after 3 games is he plays 1 down in the 4th, he would lose a whole season of eligibility. The question would be, would Dabo be willing to let a player practice without any intentions of putting him in the game to save his season? I think the answer to that would be no. Why would Dabo help a player who has no intention of sticking with the program and taking practice reps from somebody else? This is the world of college athletics now, so it’ll likely continue to happen throughout the season.

Correction on this…after the 4th game they lose eligibility for the season. So I expect possibility to see more players announcing intentions next week. I don’t think this should be a surprise to anyone anymore.

Isn’t it after playing in a sum total of 4 games for the season. So decisions could be made well after the 4th game.
I agree, practice and be ready. You may just find out how much you are needed. All of a sudden you could end of a starter and ride to the occasion.
The grass isn’t always greener, there are several former tigers out there that can attest to that.

You can play in 4 games and still redshirt. If you play in a 5th game, you can no longer redshirt. It doesn't matter which games...it's not the first 4. You can play in games 1, 2, 14, and 15 and still redshirt.

Let’s don’t suggest this for other WR’s especially EJ Williams, he is very talented and we need him. He will come around too.

EJ’s body language on the field and sidelines just doesn’t look like he is into it. I may be reading it wrong but that’s what it looks like to me. Looks a lot like Ross did last year.

Could be because he was all the rage late last season. He was going to set it on fire this season. Was one of our higher rated WR recruits too. Who knows. It would be interesting to know why he left. Easy to just pass it off as no PT but lots of guys don't get much PT but stay.
He'll get scooped up quick after the season imo. Maybe to cootlumbia. Could be he's already got something lined up. I do remember it was us and Bama. Highly recruited, hate to see him leave. Wish him all the best.

D.Collins never got better as far as catching the football.
B.Collins had butterfingers early last season, but got better and is still getting better.
No such obvious improvement in the hands department from D.Collins. Leaving is the best for Clemson and for him.

At least the reporting has gotten better, acknowledging that they cannot enter the portal in the middle of the season. Several news outlets had that wrong on earlier stories.

future.
If Randall doesn’t get hurt, he would have been a starter at the get-go.
Ngata made a brilliant catch the other night then dropped one right in his hands. He’s got great potential, but we can’t depend on him. Spector to this point ... meh. EJ Williams? The light just doesn’t seem to come on.
Maybe all three of these guys seeing their spots being taken by under-classmen will light a fire. Or maybe they’ll just quit.
Would be great to see another good WR in the 2023 recruiting class to go along with the two we have now.

Ngata, A.Williams, & to a lesser degree (as of right now) B.Collins are obviously the foundation WRs on the team.
A.Randall will hopefully demonstrate very soon that he's the real deal and that he knows the routes. But until he proves it by playing well, it is too early to award him the Heisman.
We know that EJ Williams is good; hope that he can get it all together soon.
Spector and W.Taylor should both get better at slot as they play more. Both seem to catch the ball OK, and both are pretty quick. Just because neither is as dynamic as Antonio W. doesn't mean that they can't be reliable contributors.
We can win big with our group of WRs as long as they keep up their rapid improvement.

It is a group that is underwhelming at best. Part of it is they flash open repeatedly yet rarely get a catchable ball. Granted, DJ has improved some but is still making fundamental mistakes. I like what I have seen of Antonio and Randall. Those guys are legit. We need several more like them. We seem to miss on most since the departure of Higgins. I expected more out of Stellato (spl.?) as a blue chip wideout. We really couldn’t afford to lose Dacari. He played well when everyone else was hurt last season and flashed potential. This means another Swinney kid is closer to starting at wideout. I love those kids. But, they should be playing fcs ball. I get why Dabo has them along for the journey. It’s every fathers dream. Anyway, we have another open slot for a receiver. I’d like to see Dabo use the portal and find a quality replacement. That’s one tool he hasn’t used that has made teams instant contenders. See the real USC in LA. They went from garbage to elite in a hurry.

Always hate to lose a guy with potential but our WR room hasn't exactly been a murderers row the last couple of seasons so if he can't get on the field thats saying something. The days of a guy working hard and then breaking out as a senior may be over, at least at the WR position.

IMO, if a player has been a starter for 3 games, and they fall so far down the depth chart that they rarely play, that tells me they're not working as hard to keep the spot, as they did to get it!!!!

New world of college football. Go where you will play. Hate to see a talented player leave before he really gets started. But this is probably the right move for him. Gets another year. With Randall getting increased playing time and B.Collins and Ngata starting, Dacari was the #4 or 5 WO. He can be the top guy at another place. Good luck to him.
