Those of us who have kept up with recruiting the last 10 years know this staff’s track record. I’m not concerned in the least. We’ve had higher rated recruits go elsewhere and people on this board flipped out at the time but the guys we wound up with won a lot more games than those who turned us down. I can’t believe some of these people on here. They act like they’ve only been following Clemson football since we won a national championship. I trust the staff until proven otherwise.
Also if you’re a recruit reading this board trust me if Dabo offered you it’s because he believes in you and he knows you can play. Don’t pay any attention to your star rating or so called “fans” who want to knock it. A lot of the people putting down our recruiting are trolls anyway.

Clearly my post went over your head. Just because Rivals lists someone as a 3 star, doesn’t mean other services do as well. We all know how biased recruiting services can be. My point was that some of the players he listed aren’t the best examples because not every service had them as a 3 star. And please note that I am not saying Clemson is not great at developing talent either.

You literally did the same exact thing that OP did. You took a bunch of former players and used one recruiting site to prove your point. We all know how biased recruiting sites are, so it makes the most sense to use all of them. Is that too hard to comprehend?

They are generally close . Some might be a 3 star on one and not the other . So if you take the list at the top and add it to my list you can safely say nobody on either list was a consensus 4 star . So the list just got bigger funnyface .

It doesn’t matter if they are a consensus 4 star. You can’t determine whether one service had them ranked lower for biased reasons or not, which is why I think it is best to include all services. I still understand the point of the post. Clemson is great at developing talent, and I’m not arguing that. I believe that they develop talent with the best of them.

I said “Clemson doesn’t play a single team that won 10 games last year.” That’s a fact.
I said “South Carolina plays two elite teams and a few mediocre teams. Clemson plays a bunch of mediocre teams.” That’s a fact.
The entire point of my comments was to explain that there are multiple reasons to criticize South Carolina, but their schedule is not one of those reasons. And I don’t believe that is a valid reason because Clemson doesn’t have a strong schedule either.
But please, continue to find more posts that you take out of context. I’m bored at work.

SOS for Clemson was definitely stronger than SC last year. This year? Who can honestly say? What a lame argument to defend SC’s weak schedule by saying that SC plays two elite teams when Clemson is one of those teams. Top to bottom SC’s schedule has not been as strong as Clemson’s for a couple of years now. Traditionally, yes. The last couple of seasons? No not even close and only an SEC homer would dare to make that argument. The coots played four teams that fired their coach last year. Enough said.

South Carolina had a weak schedule last year and so did Clemson. That is my entire point. Find valid reasons to criticize South Carolina. Saying that their schedule was weak is lazy, and sounds dumb coming from fans of a team that also had a weak schedule.

Their schedule was weaker than Clemson’s period. They suck so bad they needed a last second miracle to beat La Tech. They suck so bad they got blown out at home by Clemson. We saw much better defenses in the ACC and yet statistically they were supposed to be decent. We saw better offenses in the ACC as well. They sucked last year and we manhandled them easier than many of our ACC competition but yet they won nine games. Why? Because their schedule sucks and they were less competitive than most of the teams on our schedule. 2nd in the SEC east. What a joke. Like I said only a coot would say what you say.

I could’ve done the same thing using different players and a different site. For example, just looking at last years class Rivals had Carman, Ross, and Kendrick as 5 stars while ESPN had them all as 4 stars. I’m more familiar with the Rivals site so that’s what I chose to use.

Dont waste your time talking to a coot. Your point is valid. Recruiting services have undervalued some of our recruits who turned out to be great players. It’s not a fabrication, it’s not a lie and it’s not a weak argument. Your point is that our staff has often evaluated talent better than recruiting services. That’s a fact that’s been proven time and time again. Anyone arguing against that is only fooling themselves. Anyone flipping out about recruiting this year has probably not followed this staff in the recruiting process very closely the last ten years or they’re just a coot trying to sow discord on our board.

Excellent Post!! I am certain though that many the recruiting "GURUS" on here will fight you to end on it. They really know zero about recruiting and even less about our coaching staffs record over the last 10 years or so.
Recruits-- good advice --do not pay any attention to the negatives on here. Half af them are morons and the other half are COOTS--a/k/a morons. If you are offered by this great school and coaching staff then you are thought of as blue chip prospects. They don't just hand out offers here.

That's true to some extent . However there are only 25 4 stars or higher according to ESPN in NFL at this time and the list I posted had 20 3 stars or less . I do hope we can close the deal on a 5 star or two and a few more 4 stars . I would feel better about the class then . How many spots do we have left ?

I go back to my original argument which is the stars really do not matter. To a certain extent I agree with you but to me the staff gets the benefit of the doubt. If they want to commit a 2 Star or 3 Star in mid July why should we say they are wrong in their evaluation? I mean, tell me I’m crazy?
