Trash Talk

I have seen some quotes on this board of Oklahoma trash talk but basically none form our players. I just personally don't understand why you would talk a lot of trash before this game. What are you getting positive out of it? To me trash talking before the game saying there is no defense that can stop you screams insecurity or stupidity. Just my two cents

They have asked themselves which is more important to win on the field or off and they must believe deep down in their soul, they can't win on the field. Hence the off the field conquest is in full effect.

Trash talk may help some players get amped up, but the problem with that is that they need that to motivate them adequately in the first place. Also, trash talk may work in the 6th grade, and it may even intimidate some older players, but most good athletes at this level aren't so easily skeert and will only use it for motivation themselves. If a good athlete has worked hard, prepared well, and wants it bad enough, jaw flapping is a non-factor.

That's what baffles me about that "we're going to talk trash, and Clemson will fold up and go home" statement. This ain't no shirt vs. Skins 6th grade game, this is the Orange Bowl son! How do you think our boys got here?
