All 8.5 years spent in Orlando. First six years instructor, Naval Nuclear Power School. Lat 2.5 years department head, Recruit Training Command (boot camp).

Was at Nuclear Power School Orlando arrived Aug 1983; left as a Division Director on officer side Feb '88. Stayed USNR until mid-90s.

'Been in missile defense ever since.

... on the enlisted side. Most of the time was teaching math, but I also was a Class Director for 18 months or so.

Went to the other end of the base and was a Department Head there for 2.5 years.

I was in Orlando for nuc school. Class 78-02. Graduated June 78. Maybe you taught during that time. Then on to S1W prototype in Idaho Falls.

First boat was SSBN 622 out of Charleston. Six deterrent patrols. Left there as ET1(SS). Interviewed with Admiral Rickover and selected to serve on NR-1. Served as Reactor Controls Assistant until October 1984.

Proud member of the US Navy Submarine Force.

SQUID - submarine qualified until I die.

Yes sir. I performed medical recruiter for the Army for 11 years. It was a great experience and there are great opportunities in that career field. I’m still trying to decide what I want to do post Army retirement. I could stay retired and just enjoy life, work in a lucrative career but that comes with stress, or get a stress free job to help pass the time. My wife and I are still trying to figure things out.

Twenty years in the Army, multiple deployments, and I still bring that same discipline, grit, and loyalty to Clemson football. This program reminds me of the best teams I ever served with, built on family, accountability, and never backing down when things get tough.

my dad (Clemson BS ME 1964, Masters ME 1965) was AF ROTC and went on to serve in the USAF from 1965-1970.

I have photos of his ROTC company marching on Tillman fields. Standing tall.

He's 83 now and living in an assisted living facility. I salute him at the end of every visit.
