Ray Ray or Deon

Mar 15, 2018, 6:35 PM

Purely for discussion, if you could have either Ray Ray McCloud or Deon Cain back for one more year, who would you take? I think Ray Ray and that isn't even counting his ability to play defensive back.

Cain without a question. He can stretch a D and has size.

Mar 15, 2018, 6:54 PM

There is a reason he is a projected second rounder and Ray Ray might go on the sixth or seventh round.

Yes, it depends on who's QBing.

Has to be an arm that can hit Deon on the run and make him come back and play jump ball.

Def Ray Ray at least for the return game. Not Cain because I’m ready for tee Higgins anyways. The team could use Ray Ray more I think

Have to disagree, it's Deon and not really close. With the return game we will have Kendrick, a taller Ray Ray with the same athleticism and quickness. Also, if Deon was back he wouldn't be playing the 9 man this year, that would be Higgins and Overton.

Think about having Cain, Renfrow, and Higgins as the three "starters" at wide receiver. Higgins is the next Williams, Cain on the other side stretches the defense against the defenses second corner, and Renfrow works the underneath routes and excels with his quickness after the catch.

All that being said, and I know this is a hypothetical discussion, we'll still be fine.

I like Ray because of his versatility as one of the most dominant return guys in college but Cain is a dominant receiver if you get him one on one and let him stretch the field, I think we have enough guys coming in that we will need less on the receivers and more in the return game so I'd say Ray Ray. Going to miss them both though and hope they DOMINATE the NFL go Tigers!

Cain is really good but far from dominate. He dropped to many and couldn’t go up and get it like the greats. He was excellent at intermediate routes though.

Ray Ray.. PR game, and he catches passes thrown to him...

Mar 15, 2018, 8:50 PM

Cain has big play ability but he struggled with drops the past two seasons.

Ray Ray only b/c he would be more valuable for the 2018 team than Cain would be imo. We’ve got good receivers but especially at the 9 position with Overton and Higgins.

Easy Deon.

Ray Ray had more fumbles than TD's in his career at CU

Mar 15, 2018, 10:36 PM

I think that says it all.

I wonder what the ratio of TDs to dropped passes is for Cain?

I think people give Ray Ray and Deon a hard tome for no reason. If they had Deshaun as a qb they would have borderline all American numbers. There was a reason both of them had better numbers as back up WRs than what they had as starters with Kelly.

Deon had some drops, but Bryant missed him on sure tds more then he had dropped passes. They are both very good receivers that I think will do welll in the nfl.

Ray Ray, not close.

Mar 16, 2018, 6:46 AM

At least he caught the #### ball.

Cain if HJ or TL is playing QB. Ray Ray if it's KB2***
