Rain games, PFFTT! The first rain game I vividly remember

is Weak Florist 1975. For two reasons. One, it was miserable and rainy the WHOLE game. Two, it was our ONLY home win of the year, and half of our win total for the ENTIRE year. It took a VERY late field goal to overcome a weak Weak Florist team in the Valley 16-14.
And nowadays, we want to beyotch about three touchdown wins. Entitled hamsters, we are.

I remember Tigers/Coots, 1972. Wet and cold. Tigers prevailed in low scoring game.

No game is miserable when the Tigers win. Especially against the #####.

My first that I remember was Maryland, 11/01/1969. Howard's last season. Downpour the whole game. Beat Maryland 40-0 for one of only 3 victories that season.

Was at all those games. It was freezing. Me and my adopted brothers with their dad on the Hill. We finally moved to the student section. Remember their dad, God rest his soul tell his sons when they asked if we could leave in the 4th qtr. "Boys, see that scoreboard? Does it say 00 - ? " "no sir " "Clemson fans never leave before that clock hits 00, got it?" "Yes Sir"
Proud to say to this day I never left a game early. That one I think you and LBB and us were the very few there.
I loved John McMakin. He was a dude. We had a couple of them today, watch out. Fella loved to hit. We had some talent, no doubt.
Btw - we ended up 4-6 that season.

Georgia Tech game , Oct 10, 2015, grandson and granddaughter. She was still a little upset at stepping out the car in STI right in that sticky, red clay mud. Stepped right out of her boot into the red mud with her white sock! Kinda downhill for her from there!
Still one of my favorite Clemson pics!
Go Tigers!

Think that was 2002. Tropical Storm Hanna remnants. Wettest I’ve ever been at a game.

Two 0-4 teams with 43,000 Clemson Fans. That was the moment I realized how special Clemson is! After amazing 2st down run, Willie Jordan limped on to the field to kick the winning field goal!

Standing on the Hill in tennis shoes that were a mix of mud and ice. As a junior in high school the experience made me want to come to Clemson. I'm weird that way ...

I also remember a UVA game from 1977 and UGA early 90s game being extremely wet.
And at UVA in 1982 or 84. UVA students were doing their SAT cheer about how smart they are. My friend, in a poncho and shorts turned around to one of the UVA students and said, "If you are so [)@$# smart, why are you standing in the pouring rain in a $300 suit?" All he could do is look at Ernie and down himself and shrug!
