First Grandma Marian Robinson to Receive Lifetime $160K Government Pension October 17, 2016 Photo by Steve Jurvetson via Flickr (CC BY 4.0)Washington D.C. – First Grandma Marian Robinson, 79, will receive a lifetime 160K government pension when she leaves the White House next year, according to congressional budget statements.
According to documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Mrs. Robinson earned the lifetime pension for “services rendered as full-time/in-home caregiver” for granddaughters Malia, 18, and Sasha, 15, during President Obama’s two terms in office. In January of 2009, it was reported that Mrs. Robinson was living in the White House full-time to tend to her granddaughters. She was the first live-in grandmother at the White House since Elivera M. Doud, the mother of Mamie Eisenhower, during the Eisenhower Administration. Critics say Mrs. Robinson should not profit from something as simple as taking care of family. Sally Kellner, volunteer/activist for the National Taxpayers Union, says this is a prime example of needless spending. “I think it’s ridiculous that taxpayers must pay this woman a lifetime salary for something everyday Americans do for free. We take care of our families because we love them, not for profit.” When asked if Mrs. Robinson’s lifetime pension was justified, Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY), Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, declined to comment but said a special oversight committee would review all post-Obama Administration budgetary obligations.
Before her son-in-law became President of the United States, Mrs. Robinson had never been abroad. Now, after almost eight years of being the nation’s Grandmother-In-Chief, she’s a seasoned world traveler who has, accompanied by her granddaughters, been to Senegal, Tanzania, China and Italy, where she even met the Pope. “She’s been the rock of the family,” says Obama family friend and biographer Peter Slevin. “It’s been a real blessing for the girls (Malia & Sasha) to have their grandma with them during these formative years,” he said. Shortly after the 2008 presidential election, President Obama called Robinson “One of the unsung heroes” of his campaign, and said, “We couldn’t have done it without her.” First Lady Michelle Obama has said that if Robinson had not been available to step in and watch over the girls, Obama might never have launched his campaign. While holding no official job title, Mrs. Robinson likely qualified for her lifetime pension under the “optional” eligibility requirement for the Civil Service Retirement Act (CSRS)

Has to be one of the first people in history to get a pension for stay-at-home caregiving, much less a 6 figure pension. That's pretty blatant abuse of the system.

I thought he was going to do this for all black people? He is severely underachieveing cause that's why they all voted for him.
Pay particular attention to your last sentence. The reason that every black person voted for Obama, is because he was supposed to give them free stuff. That's it. This indicates that not a single African American person in the entire country who voted for Obama is capable of critical thinking, or of basic understanding of government processes that dictate the virtual impossibility of a POTUS being able to deliver a lifetime $160K pension (or cell phones or whatever else several million black people believe they were promised based on a single anecdotal interview in 2008). No, see, black people are incapable of understanding that a President simply cannot deliver those things, presumably because they're too stupid, so THAT is "why they all voted for him." Every one of them. Down to the last man and woman.
But really, your "facts" aren't racist, even if they're just opinions regarding an entire ethnicity.

Go to downtown Detroit where there has been Democrat rule for 60+ years. Look at the people who vote based on race. It happens EVERY election cycle. African Americans "think" these politicians have their interests at heart. All the while stealing from the school system, stealing from transit system., selling them homes blindly and then demolishing their home. They do it year after year after year.
It's not racist it's a fact brother. It's a fact. Come work one friggin' Saturday with me in Detroit, cleaning up the problems that politicians have created and then tell me I am racist.
Come and visit homes in Detroit with me where kids are cold and need a blanket. Come with me to hand a 4 year old a pair of shoes and a blanket and some soup so they can make it to school.
But you won't. You will just sit on your ### in suburbia while others make it happen. Don't come at me with that, your racist bull crap. Get off your fat ### and do something.

don't actually understand the meaning of "racism". See, "racism" is when you make a general, sweeping statement that encompasses every single person in an entire ethnicity. Racism is usually based on anecdotal, personal, and real-life experiences. For example, "you should see the things I've seen with poor people and soup kitchens and stuff in Detroit." By taking your personal experience and extrapolating a broad-based reason for why black people voted for Obama (i.e., he's giving them free shit), you have made a decidedly racist statement. While true that some, and probably a large percentage of African Americans voted for Obama because of free stuff or for something as basic as similar skin tone, to say that ALL of them did so for that reason is the very definition of racism. Why? Because in your opinion, that is a completely stupid reason to vote for somebody, which indicates that the black people who voted for Obama are stupid and incapable of logic and reason. They lack intelligence. As we're seeing this cycle, that's applicable to a LOT of voters, white and black (and any other flavor).
You called an entire race stupid, because you've been to a soup kitchen a few times. I have too, and I'm not making statements like you are.

A few times? A few times?
Try weekly. Try weekly I see all the bull crap that goes on with crooked politicians. Try weekly I stand beside people who have NOTHING. I made a statement that is based on fact. People voted due to race and the perception that they would get their fair share. I have seen it time and time again.
Soup kitchen? Is that community involvement to you? How about raising over a million dollars to create reading programs and after school programs. How about raising $20,000 to get a family a car and get them up to speed on their rent.
Don't come at me with your community service crap that you did in High School. I am out here every freaking week doing this stuff and seeing what voting on party line and racial line does to people.

conversation, as it's obvious you're not grasping what you're doing, and you just did it again.
"People voted due to race and the perception that the would get their fair share. I have seen it time and time again."
Yes, we've both acknowledged that a large number of black people voted for Obama because he's black. We both also acknowledge that this is a fairly shallow, hollow reason to vote for somebody, as it displays an ignorance about how government actually functions. Where we diverge is the point where you claim ALL black people voted for Obama because of this reason. You've stated it several times now, and you certainly aren't walking it back.
Here's, let's use a real-life example, and you can have one last chance to "understand" what you're doing here. One of our own, 3timeTiger, is of African American descent. She is more educated than you, and having met her more than once, I can say with a pretty high degree of confidence that she's more intelligent than you. Now, I have no idea who she voted for in 2008 and 2012, but let's say for the sake of argument, that she voted for Obama at least once. Based on everything you've proffered in this thread, the single reason she voted for Obama is because he promised to give her free stuff, which we both know is untrue, because we're both intelligent enough to know that this is not how government works. Unfortunately for 3time, she's black, so she's not intelligent enough to know this.
My sincere apologies to 3time for taking her name in vain in this thread, just trying to make a point to somebody who is too dumb to know he's being racist.

It's so easy to throw out the word racist and call people racist. Much harder to fight the injustice and help those that need it most.
Yes, the majority of people who are African American voted based on race. It's not a racist thing to say. Yes, many of those who voted who are of color (any color) are uneducated.
You know your example of an educated African American is taking my words out of context.
By the way, you are making a lot of presumptions about me and my education and you have already proven you know nothing about me due to your comments above. Come up here and spend a week with me. Racist and uneducated are two things you wouldn't find.

By the way, here are the demographics from the 2008 election. Looks like a higher percentage of Obama voters had higher education under their belts. How does that fit with your claims?
