Quick informal Comparison of NC OHst vs Clemson from 2013-2014

Jan 13, 2015, 9:12 PM

In 2013 Clemson was 5 points better on the field vs Bucks (in OB) even though both teams were about even..with QB's, Lines & LB'ers being about even...with Bucks having little better RBack..and TiGs much better WR'ers (Sammy for one).

In 2014 Buckeyes lost 1st game..then won all others for NC..with talented 2nd & 3rd string QB, replacing good RBack with one much better, bulking up already solid line play and getting their LB & DB players more reps & maturity.

In the meantime..Clemson had even more problems finding the right QB & RBack..O line play was somewhat solidified while the Entire D was even better.

So, my accessment is: in 2014 OHst beat Clemson off the field concerning fixing various Offensive issues better while Clemson edged Bucks in fielding a slightly better overall D.

But, I don't think Clemson would beat OHst this year if they'd played (even with healthy Watson) due their again having much better RBack & OLine.

What say You?

GoTiGERS...keep winning Men!

I think we'd have a shot at beating them, it'd certainly

be a great game to watch. I would've put our defensive line up against anyone in the nation this year and expected them to win.

How would we do against uga or gt?

Could we keep the game within 3 touchdowns? I think our defense could keep uga under 50 and could keep gt under 30! If everyone was healthy, we could score more too!

Lack of Watson, early season jitters in the D, and two pick

6s from Stoudt against GT didn't help.

Say what you will, but I still think we could go toe to toe with ANYONE at the end of the season.

OSU DID lose to VT by two TD didn't they? First game is hardly a good barometer of a teams abilities by season's end.

Our defense only gave up 2 TDs against GT***

I think Clemson would've matched up decently with OSU

with a healthy DW. Our defense was much better than Oregon's. Our receivers wouldn't have had the drops that Oregon's did.

Idk about beating but I garentee the Bucks would not run over us like they did O

I have to disagree. If Watson was healthy we would have a better QB. I think we would win with him. I do think they have done a better job recruiting. The fact that they have 3 QBs is testament to that. So have about 10-14 other teams according to recruiting rankings. Yet we have done better than some of them. However, we would have been the best defense they faced. I don't think Cardale is a developed passer though he might be big and have a big arm. Also we were better than 5 points last year. Some questionable calls and 1 or 2 stupid mistakes by Tajh and Kearse kept them in the game. You can say thats part of the game but by that same regard OSU can say that they let Oregon hang around by giving up turnovers.
