Question for the lawyers or people with legal knowledge

If three teams are added to the ACC does that not change the terms of the contract for television rights. I guess, I am asking does it terminate the GOR. GOR was for the teams in the ACC now, would it not need to be rewritten?

It depends on the terms of the K. No one has a copy of the 2016 amendment to the 2013 GOR Agreement other than interested parties. Based on comments I’ve read from attorneys that have reviewed all relevant docs including conference bylaws, one solution would be a simple majority of schools (8) voting to dissolve the conference rendering the GOR null and void. If a better economical landing spot can be found for 8 teams, we could have traction. Sadly, I suspect that we are 1-2 teams short in that scenario at the present moment. ND will never join a conference in football until a financial gun is placed to their head, and I’m still not sure that scenario would change their dogmatic stance.

And as you add 3 teams , the number required to dissolve Would jump to 10. The only thing that bothers me is this. ^^^^^^.
Of course, right now, only way schools vote to dissolve, is to have a landing spot

Two part answer,
1. Yes, it does change the TV contract, insofar as it allows the POSSIBILITY for the contract to be renegotiated. However, it doesn't guarantee that you will get more money. Also, it does not terminate the contract, so you couldn't use expansion as a way to get out of the deal with ESPN, and go sign with Fox or anyone else.
2. With regard to the GOR, no it doesn't. The GOR is only within the conference. It doesn't affect the contractual obligations the ACC has to ESPN. The GOR doesn't have to be rewritten if new teams join. Those teams just have to agree to the GOR, as is, to join the conference.
To give you a basic answer, no adding teams is not a way around the GOR.

When a good attorney starts parsing the meaning of is, anything is possible.

No, it's not. That's just wishful thinking.

If OJ’s legal team got him acquitted anything is possible.

Easy answer. It all depends on what the contracts says ………. and that could be anything. Most contracts like that have numerous provisions that cover just about every contingency.
