Question about Scottie's legal fees.

We will never know, but I wonder who paid the attorney. (The attorney was based in Louisville. He was at the jail about 1 hour, or less, than Scottie arrived there. He was accompanied by either people from the PGA of America -different from PGA Tour - or someone from the Valhalla or a combination of both.
So, we will never know, but I wonder who pays the bill.
1. Scottie 2. PGA of America 3. Valhalla Country Club 4. Some organization in Louisville - Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Bureau, whatever they call it. 5. The attorney did it pro bono, well worth the publicity he got from it.
I suspect it was some combination of the first four.

It was a high profile case with many cameras - microphones.
An easy win as the cop was a simpleton for jumping on the car for a traffic infraction
I am guessing pro bono given lawyers are vultures

Yep. People like me and you would be convicted. The cop would have gotten away with it.

I can assure u, no different than if this occurred in Augusta, there is no end of attorneys who are either local reps of the course or just looking to possibly get on the good side of Valhalla for future consideration. Combine that with it seeming as if the local cop acted irrationally, my guess is private security will work the tournament both internally and externally in the future and local officials are not too happy about how this turned out. This is a huge event for the Louisville economy, having the PGA pissed on how their participants were treated isn’t going to over well. It’s no different if Louisville held the NBA All-Star game and the same thing would have occurred

Would not have happened in Augusta. Those folks know what they are doing.

If I were Scottie, I would never, ever, go back to Louisville for any reason.
In fact, in solidarity, I hereby declare to never go there either. 😊

Steve Romines is the best criminal defense attorney in Kentucky and one of the best in the country. He didn’t do it for publicity because he already has a national reputation. I imagine one of the owners of Valhalla called him and asked him to represent Scottie. Scottie probably paid him.

And a dozen other golfers; I’m betting they had a contingency plan in place in case any of their clients needed representation for any reason. If so Scottie will ultimately pay the costs.

Valhalla saw the end of PGA tournaments staring them in the face. I would travel to Bangladesh before I would ever go back to Louisville

Scottie has only won $20 million this year so I am sure he needed help with the fees.
