Pylon scenario...

Sep 30, 2012, 11:34 AM

If that play happens between the 20's it is complete all day long. Nuk's foot never landed OB Until after he has posession of the ball. He hit the pylon while his foot was airborne. Between the 20's there is no pylon to hit so it's complete. Seems to be an inconsistent rule, IMO.

It's a dumb rule

As you said we don't call the air above the ground OOB anywhere else on the field.

Throw something else out there too. If he had caught the ball at say the 2, turn and ran and hit the pylon with the ball while going out of bounds, that is a touchdown. Just a weird situation and of course it happens with Clemson.

Well the pylon is a part of the field right?

So are the refs. If you hit a ref the play isn't over, you're not out of bounds. I don't get it. The pylon marks the plain of the endzone, not bounds. I'm just glad we scored on that drive.

There's something in these hills.

Because the pylon is sitting o-o-b.
