Put yourself in the SEC's shoes

I know, I know, they ain't go no shoes.
But, for a moment, imagine you represent the best interests of that conference and the teams in it.
Why do you want Clemson or FSU?

Probably all about the money. If FSU and Clemson bring in at least as much as they take it will be a no-brainer.

Pretty simple to me but what do I know.
Quality teams across the conference equals marquee match ups. Marquee match ups equal more tv's tuned to those games More tv's tuned to the games equal higher revenue Higher revenue equals more money per school.

Clemson and FSU, outside of ND, are the best available. PERIOD. They increase value to FM point. Its abt quality matchups. Creating more quality matchups. No one, whom will be available, does that better than CLEM and FSU. END OF STORY. Many more intriguing matchups with CLEM and FSU.
LMAO at ppl who think clem or fsu wont be in P2. LISTEN TO YOUR COACH

They don’t make sense unless you’re willing to cull some of the bottom tier.

ACC Claims losing Clemson FSU will cost $200 million in revenue. Sounds like that would be a take for the B1G or SEC.

And if the ACC claims this, doesn’t it seem reasonable that Clemson and FSU should collect this amount? Thusly, the ACC is diluting their value

That’s exactly right. I think it’s less about what a conference stands to gain in isolation, and more about what it would mean to lose FSU and/or Clemson to the other conference (BIG or SEC).

Clemson and FSU bring viewers. They put butts in seats. More than most SEC teams. Clemson also makes money. More than many SEC teams. Clemson hasn’t had to borrow money in years to build anything. Mostly private donations. Unlike the chickens who lose money annually. They use a shade of red for a reason. That’s the only maths they know. To owe.

of two of the most prominent schools in their backyard. Think "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," as applies to recruiting.
Secondly, to have these two prominent programs gathering a he1l of a lot more TV audiences than certain other programs, including several which are already members of the SEC.
And those are just for starters.......
