Amari Rodgers was 5'9" and Renfrow 5'10". Your height worry is unwarranted if they are dynamic with ball in their hands?

Now I'm curious---what was the offer that turned him just a week after Clemson announced several NIL funding arms & weeks before the NIL & Branding Institute opens?

Not sure, but there were rumors that he was going to visit Louisville, and that he had already attended some kind of Miami Camp. If so, that goes against Dabo's policy with commits. Once you commit, you're committed--visits and such are off the table. I'm sure there was a follow-on discussion between Dabo and recruit/family that did not go particularly well. So, decommitment resulted.

Shouldn't be a problem if a kid camps somewhere else. Official visits I can see. But if Dabo is against a kid committing and going to another camp, I disagree with him on that.

Well, we have had a million of more men, and women since the settlement of this country have already sacrificed their life, with millions more that are on duty in uniform that's ready to sacrifice so that American's can have our freedoms to do what ever we want to do that isn't considered to be a criminal act against ones family, or property.
Having an opinion, and voicing our opinion is one of our rights that so many have given their lives to assure our rights of freedom. So I would say that any American citizen in America has the right to have an opinion regardless of what their employment is, even if it's an opinion of what someone else does, or don't do, and that's my opinion regardless of who do, or who don't like it. Just as it is OK for those that don't like it, to have an opinion why they don't like it, it's their opinion, everybody has the right to express their opinion regardless of how different!!!

You're being a bit dramatic.
Comparing a first amendment right from one person that you want protected (i.e., the poster who said that our commits should be able to go to non-Clemson FB camps) to a first amendment right for a person (not the Gov't, but another person ... who disagrees with the first person and opined that her opinion wasn't valid) whose first amendment right you don't like.
What about all the men who died fighting our rights of free speech, American flag, etc. etc. etc. for the second poster?
Time to lay off the coffee.

He shouldn't have committed so soon if he or his family intended to shop around for NIL money. He knew the rules around Dabo's round table and he broke them. Sounds like another Kendrick to me. In defense of the aforementioned rules, what if the kid goes on to use his officials and gets hurt? Of course he could get hurt where he committed, but it's like when Ron Gant (former Braves player) got really hurt riding a motorcycle. It was in his contract that he signed, NO MOTORCYCLES!!! Should this kid or Gant be allowed to do what they want?? Go ahead and blame Dabo if you must. I encourage you to delete your account.

I agree with Dabo if you are committed to Clemson why visit other schools. It's time to focus on Clemson football and your future teammates. Do your visits before you commit.

Y'all didn't get what I said. I explicitly stated official visits should be off the table. But what y'all took and ran with, a kid can't go to any camp and hone their craft.
The way you're saying it and others, then a kid shouldn't be able to go to anything like DJU did going to Houston and working with a trainer. I'd encourage a kid to go to as many camps as possible. That's all. That's not an official visit.

Going to a trainer, that person doesn't necessarily have a dog in the fight when it comes to recruiting. They can, but that wouldn't be their primary goal. Camps are different. You are going to a school where their primary goal goal is recruitment. How many kids have committed to us since the last camp.... Dabo has specifically said that camps are a way to judge a recruits talent and whether the staff will offer. No. Absolutely not. Your commitment is your word and your honor. If you want to continue to go to the camps, make a silent pledge and then go have fun. When you commit to Clemson, part of that handshake is "no more visits", camp or otherwise. If you make that commitment, and break it, then your word means nothing.

C'mon ... FB camps are a recruiting platform.
Just because Clemson doesn't 'wine and dine' recruits and their families when HS players come to our camp doesn't mean that the opportunity for recruiting doesn't exist.
It's all a matter of the principles of the FB program that is conducting the camps.
Neither U of Miami now U of Louisville are paragons of virtue. Compared to Clemson under Dabo, trusting your kid to get pure coaching at a FB camp vs. trusting UofM or UofL to do the same is like comparing the neighbor teenage girl to babysit your 1st grade girl to having Ghislane Maxwell doing the babysitting.

Classic G Maxwell reference...should've taken it one step further and mentioned either barry, bill, or fact biden has (purposefully) an island - short sub ride away btw - from Epstein island. The World's wake up call to the fact that these pedophiles have been running the world for as long as they have is going to have people losing their minds. Some of us, have known about it all for a long time.
Anyway, appreciate the GM reference, lil bread crumbs for the sheeple.

More detail, Joseph Nathaniel will end up in a few weeks committing to Miami, or Texass A&M, and his family have been offered a chunk of NIL money from a McDonalds bag, it was a Happy family meal, adult size!!!!
When he recommits, we will know what coach offered him the McDonalds NIL Happy family meal Bag for adults. I'm sure he has been told to take a few visits before he commits, and receives his special McDonalds NIL Happy family meal Bag, adult size, to take suspicion away from the "NIL" happy bag man!!!
It is mine, and many others opinion that the NIL opened up both barn doors for the cheaters to buy what ever players they want regardless of the student athletes prior commitment, or even if they have signed and went through a season with a college program. If the cheaters want a certain student athlete, or athletes, there is nothing standing in the way of the cheaters from buying those types athletes regardless of what college program they're at when a secret agreement being made to pay a student athlete undercover of a dirty/fake NIL pretense bc, the money is coming from rich booster under any desired NIL they want it to be. And that is what one judge pushed through his court all by himself. He was probably one of those booster looking for a legal way to pay student athletes out in the open, even if it was through dirty dealing that would be all most impossible prosecute if done the right way!!!

Why would they be mad at "this one"...simple fact is Clemson is one of 2/3 of the elite programs in the country, and that's been the case for about a decade. One shady WR from Miami that has no integrity means zero to Clemson people. If anything we enjoy when a kid shows his true colors and is clearly not a Clemson gentleman. Miami, L'ville or a shady thug place like UGA will likely suit him best. We only take the best, player and character wise...good riddance and I don't think any true Clemson fan gives a rat's #### about one suspect player. We are at the top, and the best of the best want to come to Clemson - that's not, nor will change.

I laugh at how he said that there were some things he disagreed with. He’s clearly referring to Dabo’s “no visiting” policy. The kid had to have known that before committing. Dabo has been open about that policy for years.

It should not come as a surprise to any kid. Don't commit if you want to take your visits, and if you're the last one on our board, we don't keep recruiting either.

We have over six months until signing day. The staff has probably already identified his replacement.

This is the best timing for us with recruiting going as good as it is. I hope we go after someone who will play the slot position and have some speed like Amari Rogers type of player. Best of luck to him.

Two thoughts. First, a kid that is a Junior in high school rarely knows what he or she wants to do in the next hour, much less two years away. Second, this is exactly why we should not get excited with commitments because they mean nothing until the scholarship papers are signed.

Bush league to put that in the statement. Just low class. He’ll fit in great at the u. Or Louisville, who wishes they were a Kirkland version of miami.
Here’s hoping he busts and is begging FIU for a transfer spot in two years. Invest that NIL wisely, kid.

I think he wants to visit other schools. I think Dabo/Tyler told him that he needs to decommit then, and we're going to pursue other players b/c we're not going to wait and hold a spot for a "maybe".

It seems that when we get good recruits, it’s because we are awesome and have great recruiters.
And when we miss on someone, it’s because of NIL.

Why would someone want to go anywhere other than Clemson? Seriously, if you were committed to us, with all the tools we have; decomitting to go to another school, one that doesn't offer anything other than a handful of "now" cash, seems pretty obvious.

I never understand why our fans say things like this. Clemson is in a small town in one of the least attractive states for young people. Dabo and company have done a great job of recruiting at such a disadvantage. Clemson doesn't offer some mystery benefits that a recruit can't find at another school.

Why is The Palmetto State unattractive to young people?

I think you are ascribing your own personal values to other people.
A great many players (and their parents) choose Clemson for many of the things you probably would list as “unattractive” ...
It’s definitely not for everybody, but for many young people and their parents, the state of SC in general and Clemson in particular is very attractive.

we get great lots of players for that reason alone.
By the same token, we lose some great players because our awesomeness just isn’t enough and they are willing to settle for some place *less awesome* in order to satisfy a short-term, short-sighted urge.
At any rate, I think you totally hit the nail on the head.
So ... for this moment in time, YOU are awesome too!

Dabo won me over when Cordarrian Richardson (remember him, yeah, no one else does either) decommitted and we got some scrub named Travis Etienne at the last minute.
Seemed to have worked out well.
Shoot we "missed" on Ty Simpson and only got Klubnik...who ended up more highly rated.
I trust our staff. WRU isn't a myth. Let's see what rabbits they pull out of the hat.

That is just garbage to thank Clemson, Clemson fans, Clemson staff and the position coach specifically…to say that you were shown love day in and day out…and then to say “some things took place that me and my family didn’t like.” What things? Because that sounds like someone did something wrong.
By all means, go where you feel you belong but for goodness sake think about what you say.

Decommitment feels like being dumped. It never feels good, but Joseph timed this well. Earlier, to lose him would have really stung, but he waited, checked out things again, and when we were in good shape, he decommitted. I wish him well.

"some things took place.." Yes, like more money from wherever he ends up - likely Miami. I guess he wants money more than he wants an ACC title and maybe a Natty....Good luck son. He's just another guy for us and not a true difference maker. You're either all in or you or not! I just told my wife that that I didn't want to decommit but I just wanted to do some other visits and I would probably be back if I didn't find anything better! She said, "don't bother, your stuff will be in the yard...." She must have consulted with Dabo!

As the player behind the commitment. There is now one more opportunity for a young man who prefers to be at Clemson.

Can't blame the kid. If I came from an impoverished neighborhood and had the chance to make some real money. I would have taken it too man. Sad to lose the young man but it is what it t I is....best of luck to that young man and his family.

Long time lurker's first post here. Like others I'm curious at what Joseph and his family didn't like? Was it the expectation of no visits after committing, NIL $? Was he the recruit Dabo made look silly with his fade away jumper?

Hope this young man finds what he’s looking for. Also hope he doesn’t regret this decision in a few months. I really can’t imagine having this opportunity at Clemson and passing it up you know the grass isn’t always greener!

I've taken jobs specifically for the best money. NEVER WORKED OUT

I hope this kid gets treated well wherever he goes. Most of us here are experienced enough to have been in his shoes. Following money. I was corrected the other day by a wiser man when I said, Money is the root if all evil.' Before the conversation went on that man said. "Son,... The love of money is the root of evil". I think about that alot now and I try to insert said message in any topic pertaining to intent of pursuing a payday. Following that love will always lead us to the wrong place. God bless the kid but we will be fine.
