Ike's is good. If you're ever up in Landrum try the hare and hound restaurant. Best I've had lately.

"The Beacon" is literally world famous.

Now it's been a while since I've had a Beacon burger and the original owner has died as well as the fellow who took the orders and relayed them to the cooks, but for years and years, "Cheeseburger A-Plenty" from the Beacon was the benchmark for burger plates.

Just my opinion but overall food quality at The Beacon is nowhere near what it was 20 years ago.

Ate there once in the early 80s. The burger had the poorest quality meat I've ever had and the onion rings were nothing more than onions dipped in grease without the coating. Couldn't see how the place became so famous.

Ikes korner grill is most likely it. Ikes has the best burger I've ever had. You won't be disappointed. In my opinion the beacon doesn't compare.

I ate a burger at the Beacon last year after being away for 20 years. I could not eat that burger. Neither the Beacon or Hare & Hound compare to Ike's. Just go to Ike's - you can thank us later.

Depends on what you want. If you want a massive beefy burger that might give you a heart attack before you leave but still let you die happy, go to Ike's. If you're looking for a fancier burger with more outside the box ingredients, check out Cribb's Kitchen.

Apparently they close at 3:00. Place was packed, was rudely told they werent taking any more to go orders. Left disappointed after reading about how good the place on here this week.
