Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Friday, one of the worst days of my life. Had one told me 9 years ago that saying goodbye to a cat would be so #### hard I'd have laughed. I loved that little guy and he gave Sharkgirl and I everything he had. As the tears well up I lie to myself and say this is the last time, but it isn't. We fixed him one late meal of his favorite things, he tried to eat a few bites. Then we let him walk outside for a bit. Loaded him in the truck but didn't make him stay in the carrier. He looked around about like a dog would. I was able to carry him in my arms as we walked into that special vet door so other people don't have to see. We've been going to that vet since 2019, the first time we really thought he was done for, and all of the staff came into check on us and say goodbye. Spent the rest of the day just in a fog. My mind tricked me one time. See, the boy would often be crawled up in my chair when we would come home. It had a blanked, about the same color as his fur, to keep the chair from getting gross. That blanket was bunched up just so and looked like he was right where he should be I looked twice. Was very mad at myself for being tricked.
Saturday, waking up was ######, completing a full cycle without Odin. We dusted ourselves off and went to Clemson for Banana Ball. Got out usual parking spot then headed up to Up Stairs Tiger Town for some beers and shots with Charlie, then off to meet up with RH and his crew. The event was insane, least amount of orange I'd ever seen in Death Valley, a good time that I may try to do again, but won't work quite so hard.
Sunday, I spent most of the day trying to get inventory for a craft show next Saturday, I've got 8 of my pint glass bottle opening note pads and 1 propagation station done. I'm going to have a few of my picket fence picture holders too, and board butter. Felt almost like a real woodworking instead of a hobbist batching stuff out.

Pretty sad... grandkids were down for a week but left Friday morning... made weekend house a little empty.
But, got truck and car washed / waxed, found two dimes on beach with metal detector - this thing is paying for itself like crazy - Sunday church.... back to work,

Sorry man.
Mine was pretty good though.
Friday went fishing on Clarks Hill to practice for tourney and caught a bigun near 5 lbs.
Friday night went to campout with church dads/sons. I had to abandon my kid though because 4 am wakeup.
Saturday - Tournament on Clarks Hill went very well, finished in 1st place with my nephew. He caught a 5 pounder (IDEKH) and we woulda still won the tournament without it.
Picked up wings for dinner.
Sunday - Church in the morning, washed wife's car with help from kids, church concert in evening, finished taxes....errything was good until the taxes.

Made a tactical error of going to wash the car in Pendleton Saturday afternoon, not thinking of Banana traffic. Made it to The Smokin' Pig for some Q where I saw a biker go over the front of his bike. It looked worse than it was, he just had a concussion. Took the back roads home for obvious reasons.
Watched the naners on TV, came away kinda meh.
Not much yesserday, watched golf, had a few libations then watched Dark Winds.

Th - little one had a dance recital that I was not real excited about attending. Turned out to be great, and at the end little one was given the Outstanding Jazz Student award. We were totally shocked as we were not told she would be getting that before the show. Good thing we stuck around for the finale. Mom of came along for the show, and then we went out for mexican after. A grand time was had by all.
Fr, Sat, Sun - was mostly a lazy POS. Did a little karaoke, went to golf course for a quick putting session, did the growler fill thingy at Lowe's grocery, had a few beers. Yada yada yada, I'm really tired today.

Friday...took daughter-of to Hanna's girls lax playoff game where they beat Catawba (they play Fort Mill for Upper State championship tonight). Her good friend is on the team and daughter-of wants to start playing as well. Was a great game. Dinner out with friends afterwards.
Saturday...made sausage biscuits for breakfast and rested because post-surgery ankle (still in boot) was barking from all of the walking the night before. Sat around and watched TV most of the day. Took, wife, daughter, and daughter's friend to Texas de Brazil in G'ville for dinner. It was pretty good. Big party sitting next to us had unruly kids they were letting run around and play tag in the restaurant, so that was very annoying and took away from the meal a good bit.
Sunday...watched church from home. Did a few odd jobs around the house. Grilled some hot dogs for dinner. Watched Celtics beat Magic. Bed at a decent time.
Decent weekend. Ready to be out of this dang walking boot!

So I had the rona and bailed on Death Valley. Kids and wife and inlaws had a blast. I sat at home coughing and shivering. Anyway, used the time to build new PC.
I would brag about my drinking, but I didn't. I would brag about the awesome stuff I cooked, but didn't. Got some new sheets and managed to wash them and get them on the bed.
Overall 3.5/10
PS - My wife's uncle is now viral and famous. And/or TikTok is completely stalky AF. Wife's scrolling tiktok and finds her aunt and uncle in a random video by a player from the Party Animals.

lots of hookers, and so, so much blow.
Had to go see an old HS friend on Thursday (wife already gone) who's wife had died on Easter Sunday. Pretty sad story that I don't need to get into, but got to see a few other fellas that I hadn't seen in lots and lots of years. Friend we went to see has been completely dry in 2025, but fell off the wagon the night before and put down a whole bottle of tequila, and he looked like it. He's in a precarious spot, and isn't AT ALL the kind of dude who will reach out for help when he needs it. No idea how this turns out.
Met some frans at golf course clubhouse for some overpriced dranks on Friday. Took kids to Mexican joint on Saturday. And that's mostly how the weekend went.
Wife let me know at 5pm yesterday that they were on the road and would be home in 3-4 hours. I let her know that's kinda offputting, especially when she expects reasonable updates on return trips from me, but whatev.
I'll give it a...I don't know. It doesn't matter. It was a weekend. Had better. Had worser.

Soccer tourney in Myrtle Beach, except one son played in North Myrtle and the other at Market Commons. Those are 30ish minutes apart. Games were at teh same time for both of them, 9:45 Saturday morning and 4:30 Saturday evening. So we had to take two cars, which sucked. Both boys went 2-0 on Saturday. Youngest had 3 goals and 2 assists in the first game, an assist in the second. Middle was the GK, had a shutout in Game 1, won 4-1 in game two.
Stephen Wilson Jr. at the House of Blues Saturday night. We were a minute or two late so we missed half the opener. SWJ was amazing, we had pew seats on the second floor. The sound in the HOB is meh and some asssshat was next to me screaming lyrics to the songs and screaming between songs to play other certain songs. I am have listened to 5-6 of his songs on the regular, but the whole show was great. Check him out before he blows up, which might be actively happening. He played the National Anthem at the Draft. Most of his shows are selling out.
Sunday morning woke up with hangover. Same situation as previous day, divide and conquer. Middle son won 1-0 and advanced to Championship game. Youngest tied 4-4 and went to penalties where they lost. He had one goal, but bounced his pen off the right bar so he wasn't very happy. Ate lunch then met back up for Championship game at 3:30, won that one 1-0, son had two really great saves. The other team might have been better, but we had a moment of great offense with a good throughball that our striker made some magic happen. So we left and drove back, tired AF, ready to pass out the whole way home. Thank you Peanut Butter M&Ms for keeping me awake.

with a complete stranger was at a David Allan Coe concert. Drunk asshat next to me kept screaming the lyrics, not in time to the music mind you, and wanting to tell me the back story to every song.
I finally told him I didn't pay good money to listen to his ### ruin good music. He bowed up and I thought I might just get my butt whipped when his wife/sister/girlfriend reached up and twisted his ear and told him to cut it out like he was a little kid. Everyone around laughed their ### off. Except him.

Thursday - wife left for girls weekend in NYC. Single dad life began.
Friday - took the day off. long run, long gym session. Lunch at a new restaurant and some drinks, then a long nap. Pizza with the kids for dinner.
Saturday - cold and rainy baseball practice. ##### Sporting Goods trip to get kids new shoes. Friends came over and we did a fire pit and drank a lot of whiskey. Kids played and did sleepovers.
Sunday - skipped church, felt bad about it, but my daughter didn't get home in time from sleepover, so it is what it is. Took son to Amon Ra St. Brown football camp, which was awesome. He is a really good guy, great with the kids. Crumbled sausage tacos for dinner.
Monday - I am super tired, but it's beautiful out and I am forcing myself to be positive.

trip to Charlotte after work to see Tyler Childers at PNC. Our second time seeing him and he put on another great show. We were towards the back of the seated area and he came out to a little 'b stage' right next to us for a few songs, pretty neat to get free front row upgrade like that. We got back LATE so Friday morning was a blur at work.
Friday evening after work I picked up some Thai takeout and we chillaxed and watched the new episode of Jon Hamm's new show. Watched a little hockey playoffs and went to bed.
Saturday and Sunday were filled with 7.62 metric asstons of yardwork. It's that time of year when you can get a lot done and still have a lot to do. But weather was nice.
Flipped on Bananas game, I was like

Sunday night I had to work until the wee hours so this morning is poopy, but it should be my last late night working for the spring.
Overall, I'm sore and achy but enjoyed it and would do again. I'll skip the nannerball tho.

SUPER=MEGA BASEBALL WEEKEND.

Friday, drove to Durham for the Tri-City Chili Peppers vs. the GlowMojis Cosmic baseball game in the Durham Bulls ballpark. Very much like BananaBall with funky rules and fast pacing, first four innings are in daylight, then they make a spectacle out of turning off the lights and the turning on the blacklights so bats, balls, uniforms, bases...everything glows in the dark. Very cool thing to watch. The street party beforehand outside the stadium was OK, overall I'm glad I went but I doubt it's something I'd do again.
Saturday, left Durham at 7:30 am and drove to Clemson. We all tossed our stuff in at RH Sis condo and went straight to stadium for Savannah Bananas game. Got parked around 2:30 on Press Box Road, 5 spots from the stadium entrance because Sis was able to talk her way around barricades, security folk, and what few cops were working the event. Tailgated all day, had a nice gathering of folk including aerozeptallica and SharkGirl. Y'all know the Banana Ball details so I'll just say it was a fantastic show, well worth doing, perfect first baseline seats, glad I went to it in Death Valley, and doubt I'd do it again next year.
Sunday, got up and went to Buenos Dias for breakfast in Anderson, fantastic place to eat if you haven't been. Michelada was respectable, but far from the best I've had and way overpriced but what isn't these days? Drove to Spartanburg for Hub City Spartanburgers game against the Greenville Drive. Great little stadium, by far the most comfy stadium seats I've ever sat in. I can see us going to some Sunday games this season...an hour from the house and a 2:05 start time makes it an easy enough trip.
All in all, it was definitely a 190/19 Covids weekend.

Obviously having some satellite of Ike's or the Beacon, or both would be ideal. My biggest gripe about Drive games is really, truly uninspired concessions.

Expensiver than usual beers but I laid off yesterday because I woke up a touch dehydrated from Saturday (except for the breakfast michelada). Still, that's a super nice stadium, free parking is a short walk, and they might have the most comfy seats in sports.
I'm hoping they do a Marshall Tucker appreciation night sometime like the ABB game we went to in Macon. It would be a sin not to do that!

That I didn't go out and go wild for a change
Friday - buddy came over to watch the Magic beat the Celtics. Oldest daughter did see us doing swats on the back porch, not great.
Saturday - got in 36 of Golden Tee including a double eagle on a par 5 where I threaded the needle between 2 mountains. Watched Orlando City beat the absolute doodoo out of Atlanta United, and streamed what turned out to be a fantastic Panic show with Black Sabbath and Fairies Wear Boots covered.
Sunday - went to youngest daughter's first swim meet. She did quite well, finishing 2nd in free, 1st in back, and 1st in breaststroke. Proud Dad and it was not as long and grueling as I thought it would be. Caught a 15 minute stage 2 nap while watching my Lunge fantasy racing team put on a horrible performance. Only Metiger is worse than me at this. Watched Magic lose game 4 to C's. One team can shoot a basketball, the other cannot

Took a week off work to go to Boston and see my daughter run in the Boston Marathon.
All involved thought she did well, finishing with a time of 3:23:09 but she was very disappointed in her time. I think her target was around the 3:10:00 mark.
Flew back to CA with her to spend a couple relaxing (cold) days along the beach in Monterey while she went back to work.
Had good food in both places. Spent way to much money...but wouldn't change a thing.

Friday: took the day off, rolled out about 1:30 to Spring Valley High School for a track meet, took 3 hours to get there because Cola traffic suxxors, ate at Rush's was disappoint because I don't eat fries often and their new ones are not good, watched sonof run the 400 at 7:30...seeded 13th finished 7th with a PR, rolled out of Cola for a 3 hour ride home because still constructing on I-26...so 6 hours for less than 50 seconds of running
Satday: homework, grocery shopping, yard work, steaks on the grill, crash
Sunday: had to certify umpires for DYB, home to watch golfs and relax
8/10 because Rush's fries and long ride

was wondering if she has committed elsewhere yet. Not trying to be nosey, but I am not sure I saw an update after she entered the transfer portal. Best of luck to her, hope her recovery went well and I hope she can shine again!

I think she is done running collegiately. I told her I wouldn't even ask any questions until her semester is done, which is this coming week.
Didn't want to put any pressure on her, but gut feeling is that she is done. She still runs everyday, tho. Who knows, all I do is pay the bills and look good.

So she is recovered, just taking some time to figure out what she wants to do?

Good for her. I hope it all works out well for her. College athletics can be tough, I am sure.

left work early on Friday and went straight to bed, son came over and we watched the draft
Saturday: nothing much, I did grill steaks and chicken, baked baked taters and cheesy Tennessee onions.
Was delish, more draft, went to bed even earlier and slept about 14 hours
Sunday: up late, watched the dogs, had a rare Sunday practice with the team. Bed again early.
Almost over this crud
