If you won 100 million (after taxes)

How much would you give to Clemson.

Would it be to overall athletic fund? NIL? Both?

Would you stipulate any percentage had to go to certain sports?

What would you want in return?

I'd give however much it would cost to expand seating around the east endzone around the hill and make it student tickets only. Plant the seeds for the next generation. I'd work with the band to see what it would take to increase their numbers and give whatever it took for us to have the best band in the south. I can't control what coaches will decide to spend on NIL but I could have some control over the gameday experience and at the end of the day that's what matters to me. Get capacity up to a round 90k number, thus increasing the student section from 11k to 19.5k that dang near guarantees every undergrad who wants to go to a game a fair chance to go to a game.

My only stipulations would be the stadium expansion would be for students only, no wine and cheese boxes in that endzone. And a big donation for the band means we have to let them play more. Also I get the good parking for 100 years. And my family does as well.

For NIL they'd have to come crawling to me for a legit transfer player to push us from good to great, like that Ohio State receiver they've got or Ryan Williams out of bama or Jordan Love out of Notre Dame type guys. I'd never bet my money on high schoolers panning out.

I have similar thoughts. My first thoughts were to give enough money to the Civil Engineering program so that 3CT would take control of the Hydraulics lab permanently. I would help the steal bridge team out as well after listening to the kids.

I would set up a trust so that the ASCE chapter could support IPTAY so that they could purchase 20-30 seats near the student section. This would also get them 3 parking spaces near Lowery so that the chapter could put on weekly tailgates either in the court yard or in front of the building. I would help fund partial scholarships to make it a bit easier.
I would help the band with some partial scholarships. Would fund CUTBA with money for the yearly BBQ parents weekend lunch and breakfast for 12pm games. I would fund dinners for 7-8pm games.

Definitely like your thoughts on the stadium. I don’t think we can go back to the days of everyone getting a ticket. But I want to help us get going in that direction. I would be willing to give an extra $500 a year starting right now if adding extra student seating tickets was the project.

Don’t really care about giving NIL dollars or major gifts to the football/ sports team. Former Players need to do that. We need that more than ever now to help build team pride/ retention.

You'll never get everyone a seat and you'll never have every student even want to go, but proportion of student tickets to undergrads is wayyy out of whack and makes no sense considering how large our stadium is. 40% of the Texas A&M stadium is around student tickets. (40k student tickets for an undergrad population of 57k) I don't have the specific figures but you can see how big the student sections are at Auburn/Tennessee and even that other big school in the state. Needs to be at least another 4k-5k available (bumping us up to 16k student tickets) and I think it would help the atmosphere and keeping the noise in to close in that endzone a little bit. Even if 1% of kids in the student section end up donating to IPTAY thats a massive return down the road.

And I agree, if they ever announce an expansion for student seating I'll donate a little bit of scratch for that.

An expansion for just more luxury boxes? Miss me trying to fund that project.

Well I have always said that if I got a giant windfall like that I would not give anyone anything, but you would be glad you know me.

The most I might do is buy season tickets to both the home and away games even though I don't live close enough to reasonably go many nor am I a type to put my life on hold for entertainment purposes. So those tickets I don't use I could gift to various people to enjoy the game, but only when I know they truly enjoy the game and would not leave at half time. That is all that is truly reasonable. The game should be driven by ticket holders...I know it is not true any longer, but that is where I would put any money.

I only want my money to go to scholarships. Not one dime to line an athlete's or coach's pockets. If they can do Chain of Custody for certified timber in worldwide trade, they can do it for money for fundraising at one school. I have always taken great pride in helping provide opportunity for STUDENT-Athletes, but I will not line some kid's pockets that very well could make more than I do. Rolling NIL into IPTAY has given me huge pause about continuing to give.

If o had $100 million dollars tax free o wanted give 20 to 25 % to my church and other Christian causes.

I would go to the places where people stand in line for food and request for help and hand out money with the understanding they let me help become self sufficient. Sometimes people just need a break to get back into their own.

I would make sure many kids enjoyed Christmas. My daughter teaches special needs students. I would make sure the kids received special care.

I would at a certain amount of some family members debt. I would help my kids build an investment portfolio. And let choose a nice vacation.

Then I would be me a nice Truck but I would not spend a fortune for something extravagant. Then I would get a nice 1800-2200 SF cabin on a lake. Again just a simple nice house. Get my life long dream of a center console boat. Get another Black lab. Then have friends and family over for cookouts. Set up investments so I would not have to worry about money or medical care.

But I would hope that all that money would not turn me into an arrogant jerk. I am saying that about any of you folks on Tigernet. I think about some of these arrogant athletes and the Hollywood Red carpet jerks many we all know about.

As far as donating money to Clemson or my University it would offer to kids who are accumulating a lot debt to attend college as long as they put their efforts into education and developing into high moral kids that will make great husbands and wives as well as loving moms and dads.

Before greed consumed college athletics I would have given to athletic programs. More to underfunded athletic programs. Like women’s sports and some men’s sports that struggle each season for funding. I would like to buy season tickets for kids who would love to attend Clemson athletic events.

I wish my Mom and Dad were still here, I would feel blessed to make their lives special and truly enjoy sharing my good fortune with them.

I read so great ideas by others. 🐅🐅🐅

Maybe some one on Tigernet will strike it big. Best of luck to you all 🐅.
