Pre-Game in the Valley

Never pos… but this has been on my mind the last few years. There seems to be a shift in the pre-game approach to how the Tigers enter the stadium at the Rock that just feels anti-climatic. From the moment the band enters, to the Tigers running down the hill, it seems like they have lost the flow and rhythm of a high energy pre-game entrance. From the introduction of high energy videos, ‘we will rock you’ (last year), the band playing, and the Tigers standing at the top of the hill for almost 30-40 seconds, it just feels clunky and again, anti-climatic.

Surely, we can organize audio / video, along with the band playing in a tight, synchronized rhythm that draws the energy of the fans?!

Am I the alone here?

One thing is that the band needs to start tiger rag as they are coming off the buses

Agree! Iv said this instead of just standing there I think it would be better if the band played Tiger Rag and and at the “N” the cannon goes off and smoke and they run down … would be alot louder and have the fans involved before running down bc it does seem alot more “NFL-ish” with not the same excitement it used to for some reason.

the closer you sit to the Hill , the better the entrance

it's still electric right up next to it

the Howards Rock video this year doesn't really get me amped. The Dream On video last year and then the smoke - it sure did.

There's not much they can do because the Band needs their time.

Nope, you are not wrong. The entrance has been ruined.

The videos kind of ruin the flow, IMO.

Not fond of the band entrance either. The running across the field to piped in music is kind of a yawner. Line up in the end zone and march down the field playing Clemson songs Orange Bowl March and Tiger Rag before the national anthem and dotting the "I" in Tigers formation. Then Orange Bowl March for the tunnel formation and Tiger Rag for the hill run like they always do.

When they get to the top of the hill the band should already be lined up. They should be there less than 10 seconds before the cannon fires.

Nah. The band has been forming the tunnel for the team to run through playing Orange Bowl March and then Tiger Rag when the team runs down the hill for decades. Nothing wrong with that part IMO.

They really need to limit the amount of time they spend standing around before the cannon fires. It’s like joining a video conference too early and having to make awkward small talk.

Also, the team needs to run down the hill together like it used to be instead of skipping down individually.

everything is fine except 1 thing....the team running down the hill is too orderly...it use to be 1/2 the team was already down the hill pumping people up, showboating, etc...now, its 1 at a time touching the rock

Look back before Dabo. Tommy Bowden and previous coaches had to hold the team back, the players were jumping up excited. I hate the arms clutching!

I know right. Dabo has really killed Clemson football LoL***

The problem has been what happens after the kickoff, not the entrance.

Never been the same since they removed the balloons. It seems Clemson could develop bio-degradable balloons. Helium supply is the other issue.

they can't really fix are the people on The Hill who hold up their phones and take videos instead of just cheering.

Safety precaution that they have to go down 1 at a time.

They definitely are spending too much time at the top of the hill. The band should be forming the tunnel as the buses roll up. Its just gotten overproduced. The athletic department (game management department maybe?) Is over thinking it.

In addition, timing was off for the Troy game. Band members nearly passed out stretching the ending of the national anthem waiting on the flyover. Then they started the video too soon and the band had to skip playing the Clemson Alma Mater.
