Some of you know that my wife (Kathy) and I will head to North Carolina for my 2nd surgery Monday and some of you might not know what's going on.
It started back on Nov. 1 when they told me my appendix had ruptured and I needed surgery. When they operated they discovered a tumor had caused all the problems and it had filled my abdomen with cancer cells and foam. They didn't have a lot of hope for me, but I guess my stubbornness fooled them. After 10 days in the hospital and a lot of rest and healing at home I returned to work full time Jan. 5.
While I was out, Kathy and I made a trip to Winston Salem, NC (Baptist Hospital) to meet the surgeon that would do the next surgery. Dr. Levine gave us all the good and the bad on what was about to happen to me. The surgery will start by scraping, cleaning and trying to save my organs or remove what they can't save. After the cleaning they will use a heated chemo treatment and run it through my abdomen, flushing out the cancer cells. The surgery will last 6-9 hrs. I will be at Baptist 6-10 days and then home. The doctor has a 10 yr plan for me with lots of blood work, CT scans and other tests. All of this sounds scary and yes, I am getting anxious about it, but I do have a very positive feeling on what's about to happen.
All this said, I ask for your prayers and thoughts and please remember my family. Like I told them, they've got the hard work of waiting. Kathy, Charlie (14) and Claire (10) have been awesome through all of this. I know I couldn't fight without them and I can't fight without all of you. All that reached out during the 1st surgery through TigerNet... THANK YOU! I have felt every prayer.

absolutely done!! best of luck to you Tiger. I know this has been an ordeal and more to come!do not give up!!I once spent 24 days in ICU and that was in 1992!!just know that your friends will be with U and YOUR FAMILY!!

I pray that you bring along side of them many many friends that will encourage them. I pray for the Doctors and nurses that will be treating Todd that they be filled wisdom that can only come from you. I pray that you guide them through his treatment and recovery. I pray for a quick recovery for Todd and that you be glorified in this time. God you obviously knew about this challenge years and year before Todd and Kathy did and we know you're in control.

I have a professional associate who thought she had appendicitis and found out she had CA of the appendix. She is going to Wake to see the same guy for the same treatment you will be receiving. I will say a prayer for you and your family. You are a strong man with a lot of faith.
