If South Carolina three-peats in baseball, perhaps Ray Tanner will get a manager position in the Major Leagues. By the way, how often do college coaches transition to MLB?

Possible better news.If Jack would start recruiting in his own back yard,maybe we could play ball with them and have kept them from advancing to the Supers.

thats what they think about all their coaches and players. they've said repeatedly that ellis johnson leaving won't matter at all, the new dc (that they promoted from within) is better,anyway. and when a player leaves, they have not 1 but 3 all-americans backing them up.

Thats mostly because Ellis Johnson wasn't there for the bowl game and we shut Nebraska out for 3 quarters. IF Tanner left I would be worried, but I really don't see any MLB teams coming after him. I think he'd have to go through the minors and I don't see why he would do that at this point.

Fredi González was an assistant coach at Tennessee before coaching mlb.
I agree with you. It's very unusual for a mlb manager to come from the college ranks. Even more rare (if ever) would be a college head coach directly to mlb manager.
I don't see Tanner ever leaving Columbia.

So - the only way for CLEMSON to get better is for USuC to lose their coaches and get worse????
We're sinking to newer lows every day. Let's also hope that all the USuC fb players get drafted into the NFL ASAP so we will be playing against freshmen. Good plan.

First it was the Chicken Curse, then the BanHammer, hopes that our recruits wouldn't qualify, hope that arrests would hurt our team, hopes that coaches would retire, the law of averages and now hoping that Tanner gets a MLB job. Why don't you guys quit praying for something to bring us down and instead try to get up to the level we're at now. It's like y'all have given up on that.
