It seems like many 4 and 5-star HS athletes are drawn to schools that seem to have early playing time opportunities. Given that any team can now bring in a Jr., Sr., etc. with immediate playing potential, there is much more uncertainty around early playing time opportunities. I wonder if this will change HS players' decision-making in any perceivable way. Maybe HS athletes will choose their schools based on where they really wanted to go in the first place. Less calculating, more heart.
Possibly but regardless I think Dabo will use that to recruit
He wont necessarily take a portal player if that high end HS player signs LOI early. Then likewise, if the high end player commits somewhere else he can accept a portal committment afterward and bring them into the team as a sideline participant so they can get a head start on learning the system. Not sure if they can put on pads and practice with the younger Redshirts that Dabo spends extra time with in bowl prep or not but just watching and being around can accelerate learning curve..
What ever the rules Dabo will milk it to Clemson's advantage.
Even those that disagree on past portal usage, understand Dabo was using his view as a means to strengthen his connection to recruits and players already on the team.
