Politics

Oct 3, 2023, 1:49 PM

I do not usually discuss politics on here.

I do not try to offend anyone.

But once and for all regarding this bias that 100% exists against Clemson particularly…

Dabo has drawn a popular opinion of the college football majority from the way he is, what he believes and his values, and his perceived traditionalism compared to the progressing world and sport of college football.

It is hard to imagine that it was solely being in the weak ACC that started it.

But I am curious. Dabo has been outspoken and active on non-football matters such as Breast Cancer, BLM, etc.

There are many more things about Dabo that I can go on and on about, but what is the main reason why the media throws so much crap at this program?

It is not something Dabo or anybody really “cares” about, but it seems to affect our relevance in the sport.

When you get a bad perception thrown on you, recruits see your program the way it is portrayed by the outside world. So there is effect from it.

"Don't worry about criticism from people that you wouldn't seek advice from.".

Lear it, know it, live it !!!

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Don't think that is a Daboism, pretty sure many have said that.

IMO, its bc he's outspoken about being Christian...

It seems Christians come under attack bc there is a perceived aggression from Christians in regards to certain issues. Not saying I agree or disagree in any way with that, just saying that it's the way I see it. All of this is very general, but that's everything these days with the media. It can be one conservative Christian homophobe or one liberal Trans that makes an incredibly stupid remark and it's applied to that whole side of aisle by the media.

^^ Bingo
He wears and proclaims his faith for all to see. Then many of his players feel just as comfortable to express their faith. In the end, I think this grates on a few in the media and then others (who don’t really have an issue with faith expression) feel comfortable to pile on for their various biased narratives (ie Finebum).

Its just cause he has titles

Everyone finds a way to tear down those at the top. If he had the exact same personality and was a solid top 10 coach but without any titles, I doubt the media would care about him nearly as much.

Anyone that is on top is subject to criticism or second guessing. I do not buy the perceived bias bit because the vast majority of schools across the nation have enough problems of their own for their fans to be concerned about Clemson. What I see is envy by some because of how good our university and our facilities are. Envy works the other way also because Clemson fans honestly cannot stand for other schools, especially those who have defeated us in football, to be ranked better than us. This feeling only only started 10-15 years ago because when I was growing up in the 60's and in the college years in the 70's, a winning season was just the greatest. During our glory years in the late 70's and 80's, we were good, knew we were good and did not give a rip about anyone else. Things changed when Danny was fired and it took 20 years to get over that but times and attitudes changed and not it is fueled by social media.
