So does this mean if he commits to the tigers we will most likely not get Jerion Ealy?

Nope. There is room for both.

Also, maybe Dukes redshirts? In that scenario it makes even more sense to take 2.

Might be a grayshirt offer. He's ok. Reminds me of that Arkansas RB we had a few yrs back who stayed with the program. Not sure if I'm sold on him yet. U turn on ealys video and your jaw drops. Totally different type of runners.

Why does he remind you of Zac Brooks?***

Was to pick us and our coaches possibly have another position in mind for him. But , if Etienne leaves next year we will need the depth. I will be glad if he picks us bc I have learned our coaches can see things other coaches don’t AND our coaches can develop players as good as any if not the best in the country. I’d like to see what he can do.

We don’t know that for sure. It could be true, but could also be because we need bodies, especially if Feaster transfers.

It’s not like I started the rumor. Someone asked him the question and he didn’t deny it. I don’t know if he will stay or go. I think he’s pretty good and of course want him to stay. I don’t think anything I said was worth a TD if that was you.

August at the earliest. Takes transferring out. More than one site has also reported he's not transferring.

Re: I know if Tony thinks he's worth a scholarship that kid will

Jan 28, 2019, 9:39 PM

Again you can’t KNOW that as it hasn’t happened yet. Saying that he will contribute based on Tony Elliot’s history of developing RBs is the definition of a hypothetical. You can believe it, and it may happen, but you can’t know it. I will support any players that we get, but let’s not pretend that a player that we offered in January a month before signing day was the staff’s number 1 option.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Tony's been on him all season.

Georgia, Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Georgia State hosted him for games this season. The Tigers, obviously, haven’t offered, but Dukes hears “every other day” from co-offensive coordinator/running backs coach Tony Elliott.
“We talk on the phone sometimes, but every time I see him, he asks about my family,” Dukes said. “Since we’re from the same area — he’s from James Island; I’m from Charleston — we talk about stuff going on back home. We talk about stuff like that.
“And he said that they’re still keeping an eye on me.”

From the article linked above:

“I thought they had a pretty good season,” he said. “I know they’re still in the — Coach Bentley, last year, told me they were in a rebuilding season, so I just took that to mind. They turned it around. … They did pretty good this year.”

Lol. Coots have been in “rebuilding season” for most of their existence.

You are correct, Dukes is not/was not our #1 option

Jan 29, 2019, 12:42 AM [ in reply to Re: I know if Tony thinks he's worth a scholarship that kid will ]

and still is not our #1 option, but Dabo greenlighted the offer. We don't offer unless we intend to take the offer until the position slots fill up, and the staff will tell a recruit like Dukes where he stands in regards to the offer and how it will play out should he accept.

As it stands, we will take up to three RB's this year even though the original target was two...

He already is a good one though . The knock on Dukes is his " level of competition " at First Baptist . While there is a steep learning curve of he attends Clemson it is obvious this kid is a really talented ballcarrier , I don't care if he's facing the James Island youth soccer all-stars .
He's a really bright kid with a really great attitude . Would be a great addition .

Re: TNET: Instate 2019 RB sets commitment announcement

Jan 28, 2019, 8:01 PM

Yep, all you have to do is look at the nfl rosters and that kid that made the most plays against us in the bama game. He was a lowly 3*. Name slips me but the point is everything you said is correct. Hopefully he chooses us.

At this point, not sure I even want Ealy to commit to us. Gary situation. Doesn’t seem to be all in & he’s going mlb anyway.

Feaster could be gone next year too. We have lyn j and another beast committed next year. Hope he chooses Clemson.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg2016_pickem_champ.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Unless he redshirts, Feaster is gone after next season

Jan 29, 2019, 12:50 AM

because he is a rising senior come the fall. Ealy is the polar opposite of Rashan Gary, the only pull away from Clemson is MLB... not family, handlers or bagmen. Ealy is very grounded, and is taking his time to make his decision because it is a big decision and he understands that he has to be wholly committed to that decision, whatever it is... a guy that can be that thorough about a decision that will ultimately affect the rest of his life is the kind of guy that I can get behind even if his decision is MLB because he has the mental acumen to be thorough in his process... that is a Clemson Man through and through...

I dunno but that dude looks WAY bigger than 5'10...boggles the mind. He must have been playing a bunch of vertically challenged people if he's truly only 5'10. His strong arm looks pretty painful too and he looks pissed off....plus he seemed hella fast on the highlights. Hmm...he's either a diamond in the rough or that's one hella good job of making that senior highlights tape. 2000 yards and 33 TD's senior is crazy too.
