JK was on Mickey Plyler this AM

I haven’t seen him post about the game last night. But I realized pretty fast that he was cohosting and producing the Plyler show this morning.
The first 2 hours were the most unapologetic defending and justifying CBB and that loss last night I’ve ever heard. Mickey didn’t get to watch it, but he and the texters and callers weren’t having any of that sunshine pumping.
He said 13-7 in ACC was possible and that he still believes this a tourney team. He did admit he was slightly off in his 26-5, 16-4 predictions.

With fourteen games remaining...

Clemson currently sits at 12-5 overall and a paltry 2-4 in ACC play.
If the team manages to play .500 over the last fourteen games (and based on what I've seen, playing .500 ball from here on out would be a stretch), they would enter conference tournament play with a record of 19-12 (9-11) which will not be good enough to get into the NCAA Tournament.
When I look at the remaining schedule, I only see three likely wins (Notre Dame, Pitt and Louisville). Everything else is either a toss-up or a likely loss.

And early yesterday GT seemed a likey win. I hope we wake up but there are no signs of that. It surprises me how this roster can as a team shoot and defend so badly. PJ and Schief keep us in games but that is about it. Brad said he started the younger Hunter last night for defense. Yet to me we saw very little of it from him.

PJ was great last night, until his terrible foul with 90'ish seconds left on

GT's 3 pt attempt. Without that foul, that run wouldn't have happened. Then the missed ft's…

13-7 in the ACC is possible if we catch a number of opposing teams suffering from a stomach bug at game time.

With fourteen games remaining, in order to finish 13-7, this team would have to go 11-3 over those last fourteen games.

They needed Jim Nabors singing "the Impossible Dream" in the background when he said 13-7 was still possible.

I will bet him ANY AMOUNT he's willing to lose that doesn't happen.***

Apologies, I'm a bit slow. Who are you referring to on Mickey's show defending Brownell? Thanks

I thought he was going to cry. I think Plyler said they’ve never spent 2 straight hours on basketball before. I don’t know what was worse, the loss, or the kid justifying it.

I also made several posts last night after the game.
It was a bad loss for sure. We need to play a lot better defense, and also figure out a way to get more scorers involved. Obviously solving the streaky nature of our outside shooting lately is part of that.
