which was right after he shut down COVID without affecting the economy.
Who gives a chit if murder rates are down? What you should care about are the societal attitudes towards law and order to understand which direction we are heading.
People who can think critically and see events objectively know what his happening.

You and all the rest of the Red Hats would be on here yucking it up about how Trump is knocking down violent crime & murder. In terms of societal attitude toward law & order, almost half the country is about to vote (again) for a criminal ex-president who doesn't believe in either law or order. So, I can see what direction we're heading.

They've stopped reporting the crime statistics in most major cities.

Violent crime rates are down, including murder, since Biden took office. The numbers show it, even if you can't accept that it's happening while a Dem is in office.

What Trump policies led to a spike in 2020? What policies of Biden led to a reduction in murders and violent crimes in many major cities?
“We’ve gradually lowered it…” Really, we’ve.
DC murders are the highest in 26 years at 276 in 2023, well up from the 78 murders in 2012 under Obama/Biden.
What gives there?
Things are going so well that New Yorkers now have the National Guard patrolling the subways. Was Hochul wearing a red hat when she gave that order?
It’s a bit more complicated than Joe fixing the problem. Again, what specific Biden policies have reduced violent crime and murders in many urban cities, yet are having the opposite effect in DC?

Biden gave billions to state & local governments...

to help with law enforcement as part of the ARP Covid recovery package in 2021. Something to the tune of 15 billion dollars. He didn't "defund" the police. He funded them. I think that's helped. Also, the pandemic fading during Biden's term has helped.
I don't give Biden full credit. In a country this large, there's usually multiple reasons for almost any societal trend. But his covid, economic, & domestic policies have caused a surge in employment, and people getting back to normal and back on the job. He inherited a mess on all fronts: covid deaths, murders, employment....you name it, all of the numbers were bad. And it's all improved during his term.
I think if the situation were reversed, and all the good news was coming during a Trump term - instead of the apocalypse that he handed to Biden in 2020 - the Red Hats would be acting as if Trump cured Cancer.
By the way, alot of urban areas are actually very safe. And red states have the highest murder rates on average. Red States need to do a better job of preventing violent crime.

Measuring any sort of economic progress with a starting of a pandemic that shut much of the economy down is pretty silly.

Anybody who refers to left wing trash murdering each other and looting/stealing from the rest of us at higher rates in 2020 as a Trump spike is undoubtedly a moron.

people who loot and murder and people who vote has roughly zero intersection.
There is one notable exception, though. I'll wager that, quite literally, 100% of these people voted (besides the ones not allowed to because of felonies):
