We got some trophies on the trail cams in Missouri the last few days, opening day is the 3rd Saturday in Nov this year. We also let a lot of 3.5 year olds walk last year so they there.

To be fair… my father just gave me the crossbow bc he got a more powerful one for an Elk hunt he is going on next week. Plus at the lake I can’t use a rifle on corp land but I can use a bow. I’m not dropping cash on a compound bow atm.

That was my first buck with my bow haha. It's hard, I shot 2 that I never found.
And luckily y'all can't see my shot on him. 95 out of 100 bucks walk with that shot lol, it was horrible
My first doe I shot in her spine and had to slit her throat. Brutal.

I was with my Dad at around 8YO and he shot a nice buck but in spine, poor guy dragging his back legs around still in my head, I can see it like it was yesterday.
My son last year paralyzed a buck and same thing, I took the rifle and finished him in the head quickly.
