Pedro was automatic for the HOF, the biggest

injustice is that there were people who didn't vote for him. The baseball HOF process is broken and it needs to be fixed. This whole tradition where nobody can get voted in unanimously on the first ballot is ridiculous. Big Unit should've been unanimous too.

A three time Cy Young award winner, in addition to his other accomplishments, absolutely belongs in the HOF.

Only three active pitchers are even above 200, and I doubt any of those even approach 250 (Tim Hudson, C.C. Sabathia, Bartolo Colon).
There are only four active pitchers with more than 155 wins (Mark Buehrle has 199).

struck out 3,154, led the major leagues in ERA five times, and in 2004 helped the Boston Red Sox to their first World Series title in 86 years. He was also one of the most dominant pitchers of his era.
He appeared on 500 ballots which equates to 91% of the votes so the baseball writers clearly disagree with Plylers assessment.

Pedro absolutely is a HOFer, no questions asked. Dominant pitcher who had seasons where he was practically unhittable. 3 Cy's, over 3000 K's, and I hated seeing that guy on the mound anytime, anywhere, especially against the Pinstripes in the playoffs. I despised him but as a competitor, the guy was relentless. He was a RH Koufax in his prime....some injuries, choppier career than some, but came after you like a madman over and over and wanted blood every time. The Red Sux are like USuCk to me but great and dominant is great and dominant, period.

Pedro is one of the top 5 to 10 pitchers of all time.

He is the ALL TIME LEADER among starters in adjusted ERA (ERA relative to league average when he pitched).
In the year 2000, if he had given up twice as many runs as he did, he would have still led the AL in ERA.

folks that don't know baseball have zero idea of how dominant that is on a MLB level where everyone there can hit, especially in the AL where you don't face pitchers and have a DH....not to mention how many of them were on the juice back then. The only years that compare were Koufax's and Gibson's 1968 year with the Cards in terms of pure shut down dominance. If he would have been bigger and stronger he'd have had less injuries. And this is from a Yankee fanatic that hated him with a passion. Other than Maddux and Seaver, i'd have taken him over any other RH pitcher I saw pitch in my lifetime. He was a pure killer on the mound.

Martinez, 43, was 219-100 in parts of 18 seasons. He had a 2.93 ERA (best-ever 154 ERA+ among starters), 1.05 WHIP and 3,154 strikeouts in 2,827 1/3 innings. He won three Cy Youngs and finished second two other times. He topped his league in ERA five times, WHIP six times, strikeouts three times, wins once and winning percentage three times, among other rate stats (like hit rate five times). He won a World Series ring with the 2004 Red Sox.
