Outdoor Movies

For the Fall 'Galt's Gulch' have gotten in an outdoor movie system.
Now I have to figure it out, all I know right now is the audio will be very good.

I sit on the porch daily, movies in the yard might get the Bride outside and maybe even interest a neighbor.

I go back to when all went to Drive In movies, they gave away prizes at intermission.
My tiny town had two and another close by at Rock Hill.

My parents would take us rowdy kids. There would be lots of cartoons, and there was a playground near the screen for us. Drive In movies were a great deal for folks with kids.

When older the great Wille Clack would load his pick up with us, and we would take fold out chairs.

When even older would date to the Drive In. Once had a girl friend who lived across the road and was not allowed. We would go up the road and U-turn. Double dating to a Drive In using Ted's SS convertible was always fun.

Cousin Steve would pay to get in to shake the Highway patrol who used to watch him close. Then he would sneak out to race his '55 Chevy.

I suspect now one would need a Glock in the lap to feel safe at one, but not back then.
I miss outdoor movies.

My Senior Year in high school, we filled up a car and went to the original Star Wars movie .

Sat in lawn chairs on the first row.

Epic days, indeed.

Waynesville had two drive in movie theaters when I was in high school. I recall one fall night my buddy, who was the projectionist, screwed up and showed reel three ahead of reel two. The dang movie was making no sense! And no one came out of their cars to complain. Odd.

The Big Mo in Monetta seems to be thriving, with 3 screens, practically in the middle of nowhere.
