Now that I am older and more worldly, I realize recruiting is just like life. In my youth, I’d go out to the roller skating rink and try to hook up with a five star. I got lucky and hooked up with a low four star every once in a while because I was a great skater but in the end things would never work out. They always acted like they were doing me a favor by just being there and their performance would never live up to expectations. And just like kids jump in the portal nowadays, that low four star would eventually wake up full of regret and go back to some looser that thinks he’s better than everyone else because he can do pull-ups and was recruited to join the merchant marines.
Now, I can go out to Applebees on a Wednesday night and take a home a low three star with good fundamentals who is willing to work hard and my life couldn’t be better.
I’m sure Georgia fans feel all hoity-toity right now, but we will see how they feel after they wake up to find their wallet and Presto FryDaddy Plus Electric Deep Fryer missing after already spending $34.76 on beer and chicken fingers trying to get that signature on an LOI.

Well said. I relate to most of that. You hit the nail right on the head with your analogies. That said, we need to follow our own path most of the time. IIt reminds me of this quote.
"Never follow anyone else’s path. Unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost and you see a path. Then by all means follow that path.”

What do you mean? My friends surprised me with a party at Skateland USA on White Horse Road just last year.
I was throwing our Salchows, rexing and dipping all day long.

I was really happy when I had STD (short term disability) that time I got caught with my privates in the ball washer at the country club.
I was happy when they fired her.
