and miss the the ACC Championship game is to blow out SCar, SMU takes a regular season conference loss and UGA wins the SEC. Several SEC teams that SCar beat or have close losses to are ahead of us with a similar record. We likely leapfrog them and get the benefit of the doubt with a dominant win over a SCar team that may be in the top 15 by then. We'd also likely get the benefit of the doubt if Clem, SMU, and Mia all finished with the same regular season record. You then can't definitively say that the team that was left out of the Championship game is a lesser team. We'd just be an unfortunate victim of tie breakers that had one bad day. SCar would be the best win of all 3 teams.
