This is how I feel too.
There is not one DOMINANT team in the country at the moment. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if half the top seeds lost this year.
Yeah, this isn't a DW or TL led Tiger team with a dominant defense but I'm not seeing any other teams out there that has that kind of combination.
Oregon struggled with 6-win Wisconsin and IDAHO earlier in the year.
Ohio State looks human despite one of the most expensive rosters in CFB.
Texas looked like a juggernaut...until they didn't.
Any given Sunday has also moved to Saturdays.

We're definitely not the 12th best team at this point. Every game against a team with a pulse has been a struggle. I'll feel much better if we can pull off the win on Saturday.

You could argue that those teams incurred more losses from having to play Clemson thus deflating their record. I’m not saying it’s true, but it would be interesting to look at the record of teams we played on the weeks following our games over the last decade relative to other schools to see if there is a trend.
Additionally, it’s hard to argue SOS in football relative to other sports without adjusting for confounding factors. This is due to the number of injuries (some to critical positions) that happen from week to week on every team, the subjective preseason rankings which bias our perception of how great a team is, and the small sample size of games played.
In any event, while we may only have one win against a bowl eligible team, we also don’t have any losses against non-bowl eligible teams.

Well that’s not exactly what I was proposing. I’m curious of whether teams win/loss record against some random school the week following having played us.
For instance, last season in the NFL the Browns played the 49ers in Week 6 and beat the Colts in Week 7. However, prior to the Browns beating the Colts, the prior 15 opponents of the 49ers were 0-15 against whoever they played the week following having played the 49ers.
Regardless, I’m not saying it’s true for us. Just a thought.

And there is the problem with conference expansion that all of you wanted. Schedules will never be equal, but strength of schedule is apparently less important in football than in basketball because of uneven schedules.

Goes without saying.. there’s a lot riding on the outcome of this game. Perception of our season and if we can still claim to be a contender while SEC teams flounder from their in-conference matchups. This year the SEC leads in 5-2 record so far against ACC. Time to even that out and make an argument for us getting into the CFP.

I'll take this schedule this year, this team needed to regain confidence even if it's artificial at this point. 3 prior years tanked the confidence and faith in the program. Gotta get that back up and get competitive in NIL space to get really rolling again.
