One thing to take away from last night's rant

that makes me worry is the coaching hires. Dabo talked about how low he was on the totem poll and people probably didn't want him, then talking about Elliot the same way. Sounds like Dabo digging his heels in on his coaching hires. Hope this doesn't happen

If thats the case hell eventually have the same fate as Tommy Bowden.***

There's something in these hills.

I didn't take it that way at all.

He already fired Streeter. People just forgot that Dabo woke up everybody last year by doing what nobody thought he would do after only 1 season.

Dabo was highlighting to the fan that he knows it's less about what somebody has done and more about what they are capable of doing. Fans are ignorant to the people in the building and can only see the resumes. That's why it's Dabo's job to decide who stays and who goes.

Dabo has fired multiple coaches during his time at Clemson.

At no point this season has Dabo said everything they are doing is perfect and no changes are needed.

Dabo keeps saying that they have the pieces in the program to start the next run, but he hasn't once said any specific person is safe after this season.

We will find out where he stands, but anybody calling for specific firings or specific players to be gone is trying to get to the end result too fast.

Nothing can change until the end of the season and so Dabo will let it play out and then make decisions.

Fans would be wise to do the same.

I definitely think he will make changes this offseason and hire some "seasoned" guys. I think he has to back his guys right now, because you don't want a "civil war" inside of the locker room in the middle of the season. No matter how bad the team is playing. He's also friends with those guys, so calling them out publicly would be the death of their friendships. I guess he is taking the complete opposite approach than Deion, who seems to call out anyone on his team/staff without remorse.

Maybe you follow Colorado

But I never heard anything about Deion calling out coaches individually. I know he said the O-line needs to protect the QB, but didn’t hear of him saying the O-line coach sucked. Tell me more?

He fired the OC last year...

I'd say the heels aren't dug in.

I think (might be wrong) that Dabo has fired 3 coaches in 15 years. I honestly hope that total is doubled by the end of this season.

If Dabo believes in his hires why would he fire them?

Oct 31, 2023, 10:53 AM

In his mind they are exactly what Clemson needs. From his perspective he would be doing Clemson, fans, his staff, players and the guys he's firing an injustice.

It's very clear that 98.5% of Tnetters have never run a company and dealt with having great authority.
